The smile says it all! 😊
Giana wasn’t comfortable driving her car due to her short stature—she had to sit very close to the steering wheel just to reach the pedals and was even using a toddler booster seat.
With the addition of pedal extensions, a heel shelf, and proper seating cushions, she can now sit at a safe distance from the wheel, reach the pedals comfortably, and see clearly over the steering wheel. 🚗
Now, with the right equipment in place, she’s feeling safe, confident, and back in control behind the wheel!
In Pennsylvania, pedal extensions are considered adaptive equipment. This means they require a formal driving evaluation, a road skills test to add the appropriate license restrictions, and a prescription from a Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) to ensure proper fit and safe use.
If you think adaptive equipment like this could benefit you or someone you know, contact Roadway to Independence to learn how we can help!
