Pet CPR & First Aid of the Lehigh Valley

Pet CPR & First Aid of the Lehigh Valley Pawsitive Purfection Pet Sitting & Services is proud to offer Pet Tech Pet CPR & First Aid classes to pet lovers & professionals in the Lehigh Valley, PA!

We want you to feel confident to handle a medical emergency for your special dog and cat family members! Don't feel helpless! Empower yourself and be your pet's hero! Pet CPR & First Aid of the Lehigh Valley is sponsored by Pawsitive Purfection Pet Sitting & Services, LLC who offers Pet CPR & First Aid classes via Pet Tech. The training is taught by Owner and Certified Pet Tech Instructor #2061, Rochelle Beckel. We understand that training is needed to be your pet's first responder in an emergency. We know that this does not replace a vet visit but it provides you with the resources needed to remain calmer in the situation. Pet First Aid is the immediate care given to a pet who is injured or ill. Knowing the skills can mean the difference between life and death for your pet. This class is perfect for pet parents and professionals. According to the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) 1 out of 4 pets would survive if just one pet first aid technique was applied prior to getting emergency veterinary care! Our Pet Tech CPR/First Aid class is a four hour class that utilizes lecture, demonstration, and hands on skills practice. The class includes a handbook and a certificate upon completion. We will prepare you to handle:
*Priorities of Emergency Care
*Muzzling
*Primary Pet Assessment
*Pet CPR and Rescue Breathing
*Choking Management
*Bleeding Protocols and Bandaging
*Heat and Cold Injuries
*"Snout-to-Tail" Injury and Wellness Assessment
*How to put together your own Pet First Aid Kit

We can't wait to share these important skills with you!

Summer Heat Warning! 🚗⁣ 🐶 🚗⁣

Many pet owners believe if they crack a window, they can leave their dog in the car while they run a quick errand.⁣

❌ We’re here to remind you that this isn’t safe!⁣

As the summer days heat up, it’s crucial not to leave your dogs alone in the car, even for a minute.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The inside of a car can heat up to deadly temperatures within minutes, putting your dog at risk for heatstroke. Any outside temperature over 70 degrees can prove fatal to a pup left inside a vehicle, even with cracked windows.⁣ 🚗⁣
⁣⁣
If it is 75 degrees outside, it only takes 10 minutes to reach 100 degrees inside a car. If it’s 100 degrees outside, it only takes 15 minutes to reach 140 degrees inside.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Dogs overheat very quickly and struggle to cool themselves down. ⁣

Play it cool, and leave your pups at home during these hot days! 🐶

Please be aware of this danger!

The last day of 2024 ended sadly for this grieving family who lost their Pitbull Mix puppy on 12/31/24 when he suffocated in a Cheetos chip bag. Angi Allen writes, "We just endured this God awful pain on losing our beloved fur baby to a chip bag! I like many others who have had to experience this didn't have the slightest idea of how something like this could even happen until it happened. Then to research after and see how common it is is devastating. I've came across a lot of your posts, unfortunately now it is too late. Jet suffocated after getting his head stuck in a Cheetos bag that was left unattended for mere minutes. It’s a loss that has deeply affected our family.

If only I would have seen a poster at one of my dogs' wellness checkups, social media, or anywhere prior this could have been avoidable. I'm still distraught and hurting at the moment. Our goal in sharing Jet’s story is to raise awareness so that no animal has to die, no family has to suffer, and no one experiences the heartbreak that we have endured."

Sweet Jet was not even a year old yet. Please visit our website below to learn all the information and safety tips to keep your pets safe from suffocation. There are also infographics posted you can share with your friends, family, vets, rescue groups, and pet sitters. Thank you!
