Big thanks to Valeria Aponte Feliciano (NBC10 Philadelphia) for their powerful investigative story tonight... it's not Amazon gobbling up your pharmacy, it's something people would not think of: insurance companies and PBMs (pharmacy benefit managers) are squeezing out everyone besides pharmacies they own.

If all that’s left in your area is a PBM-owned chain, you may lose out on more personalized care and the aspect of community.

What YOU can do:
Even if your insurance doesn’t encourage you to use an independent pharmacy, try to support them when you can, even if its just stopping by once a year to get your family vaccinated.

If your med is a generic, most generic meds will cost $10-$15 for a 30-90 days supply regardless of your insurance.

We thrive on innovation and personalized care but there are many pharmacies who are packing their bags --- lets bring it back & help keep their doors open so local doesn't disappear.

We’re not a shelter or a food pantry…just humans who can’t watch families struggle.

This message (pictured) is why we stepped up when SNAP/WIC benefits were delayed.

Thanks to everyone who helped us help others, and a special shoutout to Lansdale Tavern & Anthonys pizza of Skippack for showing up for local families like this one. 💛

The government has reopened, but kindness is what truly keeps our community going. There are still families who are waiting for their benefits that we’ll continue to help over the next few days.

💔 The reality behind the headlines: 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐒𝐍𝐀𝐏/𝐖𝐈𝐂.

You might’ve heard all over the news that SNAP beneficiaries in PA have received their payments for this month. Sounds amazing, right? A great success story…or so it seems.

But here’s what we found when we reached out to over 150 families in Montgomery County who had previously signed up with us to receive updates about local food and resource assistance.

In less than two hours, 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗦𝗡𝗔𝗣 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀.

These aren’t lazy or careless people. They’re hard-working parents, caregivers, and neighbors…many of whom have a child or loved one with a disability that requires around-the-clock care. One parent often stays home to care for their child while the other works full-time, doing everything they can to keep food on the table.

And yes...we have also had some veterans reach out as even some of them rely on SNAP to help make ends meet after serving our country. The photo above shows one of our volunteers helping a U.S. veteran, a reminder that hunger and hardship can touch anyone, even those who’ve given so much for all of us.

It’s easy to believe headlines. But the real truth comes from listening to the people who are directly affected.

Montgomery County has some incredible organizations stepping up to help, and we’re doing our fair share, too. That’s why we launched a new community website where families in need can find local resources and where neighbors who want to help can connect directly:

Alex, Edwin, and team from Anthonys pizza of Skippack continue their mission to feed local families who are struggling and affected by the SNAP/WIC suspension of benefits.

They fed 180 people yesterday! 🍕🙌

Oftentimes, you don’t realize who your neighbors are until times of crisis and we’re so thankful for people like Anthony’s Pizza who step up when it matters most.

In less than half a day, Anthonys pizza of Skippack helped feed over 80 SNAP/WIC local families — 132 people!

When we offered to help so they wouldn’t get overwhelmed, their response was simple: “We are good, let’s keep going. Let’s help these families. They need it now.”

This is what true community looks like…small businesses stepping up when it matters most! Even if you are not a SNAP/WIC beneficiary in need, lets show these guys our support!

Starting Wednesday, November 5th, our friends at are opening their hearts (and ovens!) to families impacted by the suspension of SNAP benefits.

While the owner has so generously offered that families affected can simply call and ask for Alex at 610-222-4200, to help avoid overwhelming their team, we kindly encourage families to use the link below. Free pizza meals for affected SNAP/WIC families Tuesday-Thursday.

This act of kindness from Alex and his team reminds us what makes our community special…neighbors helping neighbors when it matters most. 🙏

On the eve of Election Day, Dr. Mak got a call from Hatfield Township Commissioner Tom Zipfel…not to talk politics, but to talk about people.

Instead of focusing on campaigning, he spent his night calling grocery stores to find help for families in our areas facing food insecurity. He personally pledged $250 to help local families on top of his efforts to secure food donations.

Hatfield Township isn’t where our pharmacy is located, but we’re so thankful that Skippack Pharmacy has become a bridge to reach and support people from all across Montgomery County. 💙

It’s not about party lines, it’s about compassion, service, and caring for our community.

🇺🇸 Please do your duty and go vote today. Your voice matters more than you think. 🗳️
