We’re honored to share that Together We Heal Retreats has expanded our Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) offerings for 2026, creating more pathways for healing, connection, and inner transformation.

Our updated model is designed to meet you exactly where you are.
Whether you’re stepping into KAP for the first time or returning to deepen your practice, our monthly group retreats offer a supportive, clinically-held space to soften, open, and reconnect with yourself.

KAP is a powerful modality for easing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and long-standing patterns of feeling stuck. Research shows that 8 dosing sessions can offer meaningful shifts in mood, insight, and emotional resilience, and our retreat structure was created with that in mind.

At The Lake Space, our serene, lakeside retreat center on the sacred lands of Lake Hopatcong, you’ll experience a full day of healing modalities including medicine work, somatic movement, art therapy, sound healing, and integrative energy practices.

We now offer three pathways:
✨ Intro to KAP Starter Series – Two consecutive dosing retreats for those beginning their relationship with the medicine.
✨ 8-Session Series – Monthly dosing retreats that support deeper therapeutic work and long-term integration.
✨ Drop-In Day Retreats – For those with prior KAP experience seeking refreshment, grounding, and community support.

Each retreat includes a full-day experience, plus virtual preparation and integration sessions to support your journey every step of the way.

If you feel called to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and explore what’s possible through this work, our team would be honored to guide you.

Feeling drained, no matter how much you rest? Burnout isn’t just being tired; it’s a quiet weight that can touch your body, mind, and even your sense of self.

Some signs it may be burnout:
- Trouble sleeping or constant fatigue
- Feeling irritable, detached, or unmotivated
- Headaches, muscle tension, or changes in appetite

Healing from burnout doesn’t mean pushing harder. It’s about small, steady steps to reconnect with yourself and what matters:
- Notice what’s draining you and what lifts you up
- Set gentle boundaries with work, relationships, and commitments
- Take intentional pauses and check in with yourself
- Rediscover things that bring you joy, even in small ways
- Seek support when it feels too heavy to navigate alone

Recovery is a process, not a quick fix. You deserve care, rest, and guidance along the way. If burnout has been lingering, you don’t have to face it alone.

If you’re curious about what therapy can do for you, we’re here to walk with you every step of the way. 💛

Sometimes loneliness can surface during the holidays, even when life looks full from the outside. It’s a deeply human experience, not a personal failure. Research shows that our bodies respond to loneliness much like physical pain, reminding us just how essential connection is to our emotional well-being.

The good news? There are small, intentional ways to support yourself through it.
Meaningful interactions, community engagement, and self-compassionate solitude can all help soften the weight of disconnection. Even the smallest steps, a walk with a friend, a mindful moment, or a creative ritual, can begin to shift how you feel.

And if this season feels particularly heavy, therapy can offer a grounded, steady place to explore what’s coming up.

If you’re seeking support, our therapists are here.

When the days get shorter and the cold settles in, it’s common to feel your mood shift. Winter can bring warmth and connection, but it can also bring fatigue, heaviness, and a quieter emotional landscape.

If you’ve been noticing that, you’re not alone.

There are gentle ways to support yourself through this season, small practices that help protect your energy, lift your mood, and bring you back into your body when things feel heavy.

Here are some winter coping skills to return to whenever you need them:

- Use grounding affirmations like “It’s okay to slow down”
- Take intentional breaks from screens
- Limit alcohol, sugar, or caffeine if they affect your mood
- Get outside for fresh air each day
- Say “no” when you need to
- Watch a comforting holiday movie
- Stay connected to supportive people (even virtually)
- Do something kind for someone else
- Journal or write
- Practice gratitude

What helps you cope and care for yourself during the winter months? 🤍

This time of year can stir up a lot.

Gratitude, yes, but also exhaustion, old memories, and the quiet weight of wanting everything to feel “okay.”
So we like to think of gratitude not as a performance, but as a soft practice.

Research shows that consistent gratitude can ease symptoms of depression, anxiety, strengthen relationships, and support resilience, especially during seasons when life feels heavy.

And the best part? Gratitude is something you can practice gently, at your own pace:

✨ Write down one or two things that brought even a moment of relief
✨ Keep a gratitude jar with your kids
✨ Express thanks out loud, to a partner, a friend, or even your pet

If today feels full, or complicated, or tender… you are not alone.

Take your time. Notice what supports you. Let the rest be what it is.

From all of us at Presence of Mind Therapy, we’re grateful for the trust you place in us, and for the stories you allow us to hold.

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving. 🤍

For many men, seeking counseling can feel heavy, shaped by cultural expectations, old ideas about masculinity, and the fear of judgment. It’s not just a “personal choice”; it’s navigating a landscape where vulnerability is often misunderstood.

But as we see again and again, taking that step can be transformative. Therapy helps men reflect, process, and grow. It’s a space to build coping skills, strengthen emotional resilience, and reconnect with themselves, not because something is broken, but because growth takes courage.

Supporting the men in your life can start with something simple: a gentle conversation. Notice, listen, and offer practical help, like helping research therapists or creating space in their schedule. Small acts of care can remove barriers and make seeking support feel possible, even safe.

At Presence of Mind Therapy, we offer a space where men can explore their mental health without judgment, at their own pace. Healing, growth, and connection are possible when support is steady and compassionate.

The holidays can hold so much at once.
Joy and connection… and also pressure, old patterns, and the quiet ache of wanting things to feel easier than they do.

Here are a few ways to move through this season with more steadiness and care:

✨ Let boundaries be an act of care.
Where you stay, how long you visit, what you’re willing to talk about, you’re allowed to choose what supports your wellbeing.

✨ Make room for discomfort.
Even with the best intentions, moments may feel tender or activating. It’s okay to pause, redirect, or steady yourself before re-engaging.

✨ Hold onto what nourishes you.
Let meaningful traditions stay. Release the ones that drain you. Trust that new ones can emerge with time.

✨ Find small grounding moments.
A slow morning walk, a quiet cup of coffee, a breath before stepping into the room, tiny rituals can bring you back to yourself.

This season doesn’t need to be perfect. If the holidays feel heavy, tender, or complicated, you can approach them with care, reflection, and presence.

Presence of Mind Therapy is here to support you. Book a session if you’d like guidance, tools, or a steady space to navigate this time. 🤍

A lot of men grow up hearing the same message, "Be strong." "Don’t show too much." "Handle it yourself."

When men speak openly about stress, anger, grief, or pressure, they’re not “burdening” anyone.
They’re breaking patterns that were never meant to be carried alone.

Healing starts the moment you stop holding everything in.
And you deserve a space where your story is met with curiosity, not judgment.

If you’re curious about starting or returning to therapy, we’re here to help you find a supportive fit.

Ever wonder why sometimes life feels overwhelming, and other times you feel calm, connected, and present? 🌿

Our nervous system is always shifting through three states:

Fight or Flight (Sympathetic State) – A survival response. You might feel anxious, frustrated, angry, or worried. Your heart races, digestion slows, and stress hormones spike.

Freeze (Dorsal Vagal State) – A shutdown response. You might feel numb, stuck, hopeless, or unable to act. Energy is conserved, and it can feel impossible to move forward.

Rest and Digest (Ventral Vagal State) – The state of safety and connection. You feel grounded, mindful, joyful, curious, and able to engage with others. Your body supports digestion, immunity, and emotional regulation.

The good news? You can map your own nervous system to notice where you are and what helps you shift back to safety. Start by:
- Naming the state you’re in (“anxious,” “shut down,” “content”)
- Identifying triggers that push you into fight, flight, or freeze
- Recognizing small moments or practices that bring you back to calm, curiosity, and connection

Understanding your nervous system helps you move through life with more awareness, resilience, and presence. It’s not about perfection, it’s about tuning in, noticing, and giving yourself a path back to safety.

If you’d like guidance navigating your nervous system and building tools to feel grounded and supported, we're here to help!

We’re always learning. These are a few books that have supported our understanding of the mind body connection, trauma, and healing. They’re not the basis of our approach, just part of the broader landscape we draw from as clinicians.

The work itself is collaborative. It unfolds slowly, in real time, between you and your therapist.

If you’re curious about starting or returning to therapy, we’re here to help you find a supportive fit.
