It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Karter Kristine Palmer. Born on Sunday, September 21, 2025, in Wilson, North Carolina, she left us on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the tender age of four days.

When you choose to plant a tree in memory of a loved one, that tree is planted in the United States to assist reforestation efforts due to wildfires, disease, and other factors. Reforestation helps restore forests, improves air and water quality, and also allows a new life to grow in honor of someone who was special. The official Air Force Birthday is recognized as Sept. 18, 1947, the date of the passage of the National Security Act of 1947. That legislation created what would later become known as the United States Department of Defense. This established the United States Air Force as a separate branch of military service.

Talk to your doctor about how to protect you and your loved ones and then consider wearing a teal ribbon for ovarian cancer or a light blue ribbon for prostate cancer to educate others.

In the United States, Patriot Day occurs on September 11 of each year in memory of those killed in the September 11 attacks in 2001. Today we hold space for all who lost a loved one and we express our appreciation for those who answered the call to serve their fellow citizens.
