Our addition is coming right along! Tentative move in date is the end of this month. 🗓️ This space will be our dedicated Toxicology Department - seperate from blood and molecular. A necessary stepping stone that will allow us to keep up with our current and continuing growth! 📈

We’re seeing a recent uptick in detections of a specific synthetic ma*****na compound known as “ PINACA” over the past month throughout our treatment centers across Louisiana.

These substances are not natural cannabis and can be far more potent and unpredictable, with higher risks for serious side effects. 😥

If you or someone you care for is in recovery, treatment, or monitoring programs, please stay informed and cautious—synthetic cannabinoids often change formulas to evade detection and can carry significant health risks.

Keep this information in mind when setting protocols for your clinic or facility. ✅

The detectability of drugs in the body varies by:
- Drug class
- Chronic vs. single use
- Body fat content
- Hydration and metabolism
- Test type(Instant vs. LC-MS/MS)

Most drugs physically leave the bloodstream within hours, but urine holds metabolites for much longer. For example -

THC is gone from blood within 24 hours, but THC-COOH metabolite stays in urine weeks in heavy users.

‼️ MAJOR UPDATE FOR LA MEDICAID PROVIDERS AND PATIENTS. ‼️

Per articles being released this am - Louisiana is not extending the Medicaid contract for UHC and Aetna better health in 2026. That means that all of the affected patients will be assigned one of the other Medicaid plans. If anyone isn’t happy with their new Medicaid plan they will have 90 days from January to change it.

Have you ever wondered about the journey a specimen takes after you collect it in your clinic? 🧐

After specimens are placed in the Premier lockbox, a professional courier driver stops by and picks them up. They make the daily drive back down to the lab where they are unpacked and checked into our system through a process we call accessioning. 🖥️

Next each individual sample is ran through our LC-MS/MS drug testing instrument (twice). Results are reviewed by lab scientists before being officially released into your clinics’ electronic medical records (EMR) for review. 🧪

This process typically takes 24-48 hours total. ✨

Of course there are MANY small steps that take place in between all of these phases to ensure quality control, consistency and accuracy of each result. We pride ourselves on producing results you can rely on. Every time. ☑️
