HOW do we teach?💡

The Montessori method provides a very unique learning experience for each child. It focuses on meeting the child exactly where they are at, assessing them based on observations and anecdotal records, and tailoring a plan to best fit their own individual needs!

The lesson plans focus on the WHOLE child, and sets them up for lifelong success by allowing them to lead their own learning, with a very prepared environment and teacher as a guide to help them along the way.

Montessori education also includes providing children with a more personalized learning experience by offering lower child to staff ratios in order for the child to get the attention that they need, and equip their teacher (or guide) to be able to do so. For example, for a typical two year old room, Louisiana Licensing Regulations require 1 staff member for every 10 kids. We will have 2 staff members for every ten kids which is equivalent to a 1:5 staff to child ratio— we TRULY are investing in your child’s success.

Because of our smaller ratios we are also able to place children in different age groups depending on their skill set. If we have a two year old performing at a three year old level- we can move them up to the three year old group for them to experience learning from their peers which is proven to be VERY effective!

☀️ Our WHY! ☀️

Our “WHY” goes so much deeper than just wanting to open up a “childcare center.”

We truly believe that our why is a calling from God! Never in a million years did we think that this dream would actually come alive, until God pushed us to do it and made a way!

Our why, came from watching our sweet Emmy go through the unthinkable, with SO MUCH fight and courage. Our why came from watching her siblings stay so strong through one of the toughest times of their lives. Ultimately, our why came from watching the resilience in our children. If they can be courageous enough to go through what they went through, we can be courageous enough to follow God’s calling for what we are meant to be!

I have always had a gift in working with young children. Even when I tried to run away from my calling, God found a way to put me right back in the same place— where He knows I am meant to be. I obeyed, and followed His path. I climbed all the way from the very dirt bottom to the top in the childcare industry and I want to do the same for everyone I get the privilege of working alongside with, as well as the early childhood education system. We are ALL going to climb to the top to become the very best. It is our CALLING to bring TOP NOTCH quality, care and education that is truly meant for your child.

This is only the beginning of our story and we can’t wait to use our “WHY” to move mountains for your sweet kiddos! 💜

WHAT MAKES US✨ UNIQUE? ✨

Texas, our neighboring state has over 300, and the state of Massachusetts who is ranked number one in the United States education system has over 60, and is GROWING because of how effective this educational method is proven to be.

Emmy, now eight months cancer-free, was granted a wish to visit Disney World, courtesy of Halliburton and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, after being diagnosed with neuroblastoma at the age of two.

We have WINDOWS and our beautiful Ambara Thermally modified exterior ACCENT WALL installed!

It has been a while since we have given you a building update, so here’s what else we have going on:

✅Electricity ran
✅Lights installed inside and out
✅Exterior doors installed and painted
✅Interior doors to arrive today to be installed and painted
✅Interior paint completed
✅A/C pads completed
✅A/C installation tomorrow
✅FLOORING installation to follow right after
A/C installation
✅Plumbing to follow right after floor installation
✅Main Entry doorway built

Our builders have been rocking and rolling to have our preschool ready to open as soon as possible! We cannot wait to welcome all of our sweet kiddos into their second home! 🤗 💜

We are overjoyed to finally share the news: We’ve found her!

Mrs. Lindsey Simon! ✨

I had the privilege of hiring Lindsey years ago at a previous center I directed, and from day one, I was blown away by how she connected—not just with the children, but with their families as well. Her warmth, nurturing spirit, and natural communication skills made her stand out. She consistently went above and beyond for every child in her care.

It didn’t take long for her leadership abilities to shine through, and she was soon promoted to Director. Lindsey holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and brings a wealth of experience and heart to her new role. Now, she’s excited to bring that passion and expertise into the Montessori world!

In recent years, Lindsey has devoted her time to being a loving wife and mother to three beautiful children. Now, she’s ready to step back into her calling—and we are beyond blessed that she chose to do so with us.

We truly believe that God handpicked Lindsey to lead our Little Light of Mine family, and we cannot wait to see the incredible things she will bring to our community.

We feel so BLESSED to have her and know that your little ones will be in the very best of hands! We truly believe that God hand picked her to be the leader of Little Light of Mine Christian Montessori Academy and cannot wait to see all of the amazing things that Mrs. Lindsey will do!
