ABC Method for Sleep 💤
Creating a safe sleep environment for baby can reduce the risk for sudden unexpected infant death (SUID). Always putting babies to sleep in a safe way is key to preventing SUID.

💙Alone – Stay close, sleep apart
It is not safe for baby to sleep with people, pillows, stuffed toys, comforters, bumper pads, etc.
Baby needs their own safe sleep space.
🩵Back – Place baby on their back for naps and overnight.
💙Crib – Keep the crib clean and clear.

Do not let baby sleep on a couch, bean bag or adult bed.
Do not use an infant car seat carrier or any baby device with an upright seating position for sleep.

A quiet Kentucky Derby for 10-year-old Elijah quickly became a race against time and a date Elijah and his family will forever remember.

Swift action from our Norton Children's team and the expertise at Norton Children's Cancer Institute gave Elijah a path to the normal life of a 10-year-old kid. Even through the challenging times, Elijah and his family formed lasting bonds with his care team.

“Words cannot describe how grateful we are for our family at Norton Children’s Cancer Institute, especially the team on 7 West and the fourth floor of the Novak Center [for Children’s Health],” Elijah's mom Jackie said. 💛

Congratulations to the 2025 Peacemaker Scholarship recipients, Eden & Brooklynn!🏆

The Society for the Prevention of Aggressiveness and Violence Among Adolescents (SPAVA), in partnership with Norton Children’s Prevention & Wellness, awarded two high school graduates with the Peacemaker Scholarship. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to students who lead with compassion and promote peace in their schools and communities.

Eden’s commitment to service shines through her role as a Student Ambassador at the Muhammad Ali Center and her involvement with organizations like the Red Cross, Louisville Girl’s Leadership, and more—plus her powerful voice at the Youth Right Conference. Way to go, Eden!

Brooklynn is making waves through her work with Your Mom Cares, supporting kids’ mental health, and her social media movement, encouraging others to “make the world a more loving and gentle place." Congratulations Brooklynn!

"What's great about Norton Children's is it's like a family. They take care of my daughter as if she were one of their own." 💜 At just 6 years old, Zoey from Paducah is proving just how strong and resilient kids can be. Born with 8p23.1 deletion syndrome, she was once nonverbal and unable to walk on her own. Today, she loves to talk, run, and jump on the trampoline.

Zoey has overcome heart surgeries and continues to thrive with the support of her Norton Children's care team - including Kristen Riley, APRN, Pediatric Neurology, Norton Children’s - Paducah Clinic. Together, they help Zoey manage focal seizures and keep her busy, adventurous spirit shining bright.
