Here’s the truth: chronic low back pain isn’t just a tight muscle or weak core — and it won’t be solved by one stretch or “quick fix.”

This is one of the most common questions we get — and here’s what the research says 👇

Tightness isn’t always about flexibility.
In fact, studies show it’s often your nervous system protecting you due to:
🔹 Poor stability or strength
🔹 Low tolerance to load
🔹 Stress, fatigue, or lack of recovery

👉 A 2021 meta-analysis (Afonso et al., Sports Medicine) found that strength training through full range improves flexibility just as well as stretching.

A 2025 meta-analysis (Frontiers in Physiology) reviewed 45 studies and found that sleep deprivation significantly reduces:
