We’re honored (and honestly, a little blown away) to share that Elevate Hospice has received yet another award!

It isn’t just about us—it’s about the incredible team behind every patient experience. Our nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, and support staff show up every single day with compassion, skill, and heart.

They are the reason families feel supported, patients feel seen, and care is handled with dignity.

To our team: thank you for continuing to elevate the standard.

To our community: thank you for trusting us.

We don’t do this work for awards—but it means everything to know it’s making an impact.

Stairways look different in hospice care.

What was once routine can become a challenge—each step requiring more strength, more support, and sometimes, a decision to let go.

At Elevate Hospice & Palliative Care, we’re here for your every step. Whether it’s ensuring safety, creating comfort on one level, or simply walking alongside you and your family through life’s transitions—no one climbs alone.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) might sound clinical, but it’s really just about protecting both our patients and our caregivers.

For nurses, PPE includes items like gloves, masks, gowns, and eye protection—used thoughtfully based on each patient’s needs and situation. It helps prevent the spread of infection while allowing our care to remain safe, respectful, and personal.

At yesterday’s hospice staff meeting we distributed our bags of PPE to our nurses who are trained to assess every environment and use PPE in a way that always puts the patient first—never creating distance, but ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety in every visit.

We often meet people in the quieter chapters of their lives.

But once upon a time? They were anything but quiet.

The woman on the right, next to our executive director Bethany Odenbrett, wasn’t always sitting calmly. In the 1940s, she was flying across a gym floor — tumbling, balancing, competing as a gymnast with strength and confidence.

Before the slower pace, there were powerful routines and fearless landings. There were busy days, big energy, and bold determination.

That’s why our team — nurses, social workers, chaplains, and nurse aides — is trained to ask the questions that uncover those stories. Who were you? What did you love? What made you feel most alive?

Because every person we care for has lived a full, dynamic life long before we ever meet them. And getting to know the whole person isn’t extra — it’s part of the care.

SHOUT OUT to Medassure, Inc in Phoenix, AZ for a guided tour of their DME facility— one of the most valued benefits for patients who receive hospice services is the delivery of much needed equipment— within hours of a patient’s admission to hospice! Pictured here are members of Elevate Hospice & Palliative Care with some of the MedAssure, Inc team at their facility last week!

You know you’ve been in hospice long enough when your Durable Medical Equipment tour turns into a full-on amusement park ride!

Our fearless hospice social worker, Brent, bravely volunteered during a demo at MedAssure, Inc. In Phoenix, Arizona and found himself gently soaring through the air in a Hoyer lift —- fully committed to the experience.

I “just wanted to understand what our patients feel,” he said. We are pretty sure he was also checking for seatbelts, an exit row and whether beverage service would begin.

All jokes aside, our tour with MedAssure, Inc was a great reminder of how important it is to understand the equipment our patients rely on every day.

Thank you Karen Martin, owner of MedAssure Inc. for the experience!

For residents in assisted living communities, gardening is so much more than planting flowers. It nurtures purpose. It sparks conversation. It awakens memories of flowers they once tended and seasons they once celebrated. Lydia Benchea owner and manager of Scottsdale Comfort Assisted Living in Scottsdale, Arizona, showed Susan Harken Community Liaison Elevate Hospice & Palliative Care some of the ways she provides creative engagement for her residents- much to Susan’s delight!
