Your hamstrings may not actually be “tight.” 😮

A lot of active people feel constant pulling, stiffness, or recurring tweaks in the hamstrings and assume they just need to stretch more. But many times the real issue is weakness, poor pelvic control, overload from training, or compensation from other areas.

Your hamstrings do a TON:
- help control running mechanics
- stabilize during lifting
- absorb force during sprinting and jumping

If other muscles aren’t doing their job, the hamstrings start working overtime… and that constant tension starts to feel like “tightness.”

Stretching can feel good temporarily, but if you never address the root cause, the feeling usually comes right back.

Nagging pain that keeps coming back? It may not just be “tightness” or soreness… ligament strains and connective tissue injuries can be a huge reason why pain, weakness, and recurring injuries continue to stick around.

These tissues usually don’t just heal because you keep training through them. You have to address the root cause, improve stability, and rebuild strength the right way.

The good news? With proper rehab and guidance, many ligament strains can improve significantly in as little as 2–8 weeks depending on severity and consistency.

The Bench Press Regression ⬇️

If barbell bench pressing hurts your shoulders, or you just can’t feel your chest working, stop forcing it. Regress the movement to build a better foundation.
Here is how we’d break it down:

🔌 Cable Press: Perfect for constant tension and a deep mind-muscle connection.
🎗️ Banded Free Weight Press: Adds accommodating resistance to teach you how to accelerate through those shaky points.
🏋️ Dumbbell Press: Allows a natural, joint-friendly path of motion and fixes left-to-right imbalances.

You don’t have to flat bench to build a massive chest. Master the variations first.

20+ men. All over 50. All showing up to invest in their health and longevity. 💪

We had an awesome time partnering with Argent Alpha for our recent Men’s Longevity Workshop. The room was full of guys who were engaged, asking questions, and committed to staying active and strong as they age.

Dr. AJ and Dr. Evan led the group through:
✅ The Sit-Rise Test to assess overall mobility and longevity
✅ Ankle mobility testing + treatment
✅ Shoulder mobility testing + treatment
✅ Core connection drills to help protect the low back and move better in the gym and everyday life

One of the biggest takeaways? Aging well isn’t about slowing down — it’s about continuing to move well, stay strong, and take care of your body proactively.

If push day wrecks your shoulders… it’s not just “tightness” or “overuse.”

Your scapula and rotator cuff are supposed to guide the movement, not just hang on while your bigger muscles take over.

🚫 Pressing without stability = compensation
