Calling all Magnolia mamas! Whether you’re currently pregnant, freshly postpartum, or years beyond your birth, I’d love for you to come gather with other Magnolia moms and their littles.
We’ll be at the park starting at 10am, but feel free to come whenever it works for you and stay as long as you’d like. Bring the kids, a blanket or snacks if you want, and enjoy some time connecting, sharing birth stories, and spending time with women who share this special bond. 🤍

✨IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT✨

Family time is precious especially during the holidays, so I’m continuing to make the commitment to prioritize it. With that being said, I will only be taking *repeat clients* with due dates 12/9-1/9. This decision allows me to recharge to slow down and spend intentional moments with my loved ones. Thank you for your understanding and support! 🤍

2025 at Magnolia Midwifery 🤍
While these stats tell part of the story, the heart of this year lives in the quiet moments, the deep breaths, the tears, the joy, and the privilege of walking alongside families during one of the most transformative seasons of life.
Each number reflects a mother’s strength, a baby’s arrival, countless hours of preparation, and moments that will stay with me forever.
Thank you to each family who trusted me with your care this year. It continues to be an honor to serve, support, and witness birth in its most powerful form.

She labored quietly in the kitchen, leaning over the counter, gently swaying with each rising wave. Soon, she retreated to her dark bedroom where worship music played softly, filling the space in peace.

I stepped in to listen to the gallop of her baby’s heartbeat. In the softest voice, she whispered, “They’re getting more intense.”

I left and began filling the birth pool. It was about halfway full when my ears perked up because her sounds had shifted. A deep, primal grunt at the peak of a contraction.

I told her the tub was almost ready. She looked at me with quiet uncertainty.
“Do you think it’s time? Will it slow things down?”

“Definitely not,” I said, and asked if she was feeling pressure.
“Yeah… that last one felt like I almost had to push.”

I stepped out for just a moment to check the water again, and when I returned, her body was already doing the work. Fetal ejection reflex had completely taken over.

Her baby girl was born quickly after, into a room thick with worship and awe.

We heard her first cry, and tears filled our eyes.

It was a holy moment. Quiet strength and beauty.
A sweet welcome for their long-awaited girl.

Happy Nurses Week to our incredible nurse, Whitney.
She brings calm, strength, and compassion to every birth she walks into. Whether she’s offering a steady hip squeeze or grabbing some vitals, her presence is deeply felt and fiercely appreciated.

Magnolia is better because of you, Whitney, and so are the families we serve.
We’re so lucky to have you!! 🩷

On this day every year I mention that the word midwife means *with woman* and that’s what we are, in every season.
We are with her in the joy of new life and in the ache of goodbye.
We are with her when she doubts, when she roars, when she rises.
We are with her in quiet midnight hours, in the push and pull of labor, in the stillness that follows first cries.
We are with her when her birth unfolds just as she dreamed…and when it doesn’t.
We are with her in the bleeding, the healing, the becoming.

People often say, “You must hold a lot of babies.”
But what we truly hold is her.
Her fears. Her power. Her story.

Today, on International Day of the Midwife, I’m honoring this soulful calling.
It is the deepest privilege to walk with women through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and loss. To hold space where the veil is thin and the soul is tender.
To be with her. Always.

Did you have a midwife? Give her a shout out below 🤍

Just finished my second Breech Without Borders training today and it was amazing!

I’m so passionate about keeping the skills for physiologic breech birth alive. Breech is a variation of normal and with the right training and support, it can be a safe option.

Being a skilled provider means I can offer my clients real options and true informed consent. Everyone deserves to know all the possibilities, not just the most common ones.

So thankful for the work is doing to bring this knowledge back into our birth spaces!

Yesterday, I had the privilege of witnessing two births.
One called for swift decisions, steady hands, a deep well of knowledge.
The other required me to be still, to trust, to watch a mother unfold in her own strength.

Both were beautiful and special.
Both required something sacred.
Not just hands, but heart.
Not just action, but discernment.

Midwifery is not about catching babies.
It’s about holding space.
It’s about holding mothers.
It’s about honoring the sacred process of birth, whether it asks for all of me or asks me to simply be.

We are trained in the art of doing, yes.
But we are also trained in the holy work of *not* doing.
To know when to intervene and when to let nature speak.
To trust the body. To trust the baby. To trust the birth.

What an honor it is to walk alongside families.
To witness their strength,
To hold the quiet moments and the chaotic ones,
And to remember that birth isn’t ours to manage.
It’s theirs to own.
And ours to honor.

I will never take for granted the immense privilege and honor it is to be a midwife.
