May is pulling double duty with both Nurses Week/Month AND Mental Health Awareness Month. What a combo—because caring for others starts with caring for yourself.
We know nurses are pros at putting everyone else first. But let’s be real: you can’t chart straight or lead well when you’re running on empty.
This week, we’re spotlighting real-world self-care—the kind that fits into busy shifts and doesn’t involve scented candles (unless you’re into that).
Here are 3 quick wins for your mental health this week:
💡 Pause Points: Before charting or responding, stop and take two deep breaths. Micro-resets matter.
💡 Hydration Habit Hack: Tie drinking water to tasks you’re already doing—like finishing rounds or clocking in. Less “remember to hydrate,” more “built into the grind.”
💡 Own Your Wins: At the end of your shift, name one way you made a difference. (Seriously, say it out loud. It rewires your brain in the best way.)
You make healthcare better. Let’s make sure you’re feeling your best while doing it.
Thanks for everything you do—not just this month, but every day. 💙
