About Me...
After graduating high school I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia. Before attending medical school I was an orderly at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, where I discovered my passion for surgery. I then moved to Chicago where I earned a medical degree from The Chicago Medical School. While there, I was president of the Student Surgical Society. I then completed my General Surgery residency at Northwestern University in Chicago.
While at Northwestern, I joined Dr. Thomas Mustoe’s lab and spent one year dedicated to wound healing and scar research. During that year, I wrote and published papers in one of the top Plastic Surgery journals, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. I then graduated and became certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery. Finally, I completed my residency training in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha. As a plastic surgeon in Phoenix, I was proud to begin my practice in the specialty of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery after 12 years of training. I am double board certified in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. I am is originally from Atlanta, Georgia where many of my family members still reside.
I always strives to be self-critical of my work so that at the end of the day, I can say I did my best.
I was drawn to the field of Plastic Surgery because of the broadness of this specialty. I love the fact that I can perform reconstructive, as well as cosmetic procedures and that I can operate on infants, as well as adults. I believe that Plastic Surgery is a very challenging specialty that requires innovative thought and is always changing. No two surgeries are ever the same. I love the diversity and the overall amazing feeling of joy I get from having the privilege to do what I do every day.
My practice is located in Scottsdale, Arizona, as well as Sun City and I specialize in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, body, breast and extremities. I take your privacy and safety very seriously and want you to be able to communicate openly and feel comfortable during your visit. Ultimately, as a plastic surgeon, my success is judged by the satisfaction of my patients, and I am committed to helping you look and feel your best.
