March is brain injury awareness month. Brain injury is called the hidden disability for good reason. So what happens if you don’t feel better after that 3-6month post concussion period? Swipe to the second image for long term symptoms. If any of these symptoms sound familiar please know there is help. It is time for an evaluation from a Neuro-optometrist. There is hope.
If you have the opportunity to, please listen to this podcast at 1:00 pm today to learn about neuro- ophthalmology from Dr. Subei himself 😁
What is Optometric Vision Therapy?
Vision Therapy "World Health News Today" segment on how kids can improve their vision through exercises.
This patient was diagnosed with a right MCA aneurysm in April 2022, that turned into a right frontal intraparenchymal hemorrhage. She presented to us in July 2022 with complaints of headaches, blurry vision in the left eye and loss of visual field on the left side. After 24 sessions and 7 months of neuro-optometric rehabilitation therapy, she has regained most of her visual field! Through her hard work and perseverance she has reached her goal. “I want to be able to drive again, to regain my independence” The journey had a few ups and downs, but persistent paid off. We worked together with some wonderful physical and occupational therapist. Our combined efforts of working on gait, posture, and peripheral awareness in our respective specialties lead to her success. Happy tears all around! We are so proud of you!👏🏼
Amanda started her journey with us in July of 2022. She was referred to us by her family Optometrist after she complained of persistent blurry vision and double vision sometimes in the distance. She had a history of the left eye turning out as a child. Her condition was addressed at age 3 by an Ophthalmologist who prescribed glasses and occlusion therapy (wearing a patch over one eye). By age 5 both eyes were turning out which lead to strabismus (eye muscle) surgery. She wore glasses until age 6, and then again at age 12. At age 14 she was seeing double even with glasses. Her eyes were now not only taking turns turning out, but her right eye was positioned higher than her left eye. Which is common occurrence after strabismus surgery. Amanda worked hard for 6 months in our optometric vision therapy program and after 24 sessions she has single, clear vision and stereo vision! She is now playing tennis and has earned a spot on her HS JV tennis team! Way to go Amanda 🤗 We are so proud of your hard work. 🏆
Happy Hearts Day from all of us at Optimum Vision and Eye Care.

Exciting weekend of learning with Dr. Shidlofsky and Dr. Tsang. Thanks to their research on Visual Snow Syndrome we now have a way to help people suffering from this debilitating neurological disease. Proud to be part of the visual snow initiative to help the healing begin.
On my way to learn some new techniques and expand my knowledge from some great doctors. Weekend conference time with the wonderful Charles Shidlofsky and Terry Tsang 😁
Announcing our first two graduates of 2023. Two different ailments, lots of hard work and one amazing vision therapist resulted in these beautiful smiles. One patient presented with a turned in eye after a mild stroke and balance issues. The other suffered from dizziness and balance issues. With Dr. Geiger’s guidance and program of personalized neuro optometric rehabilitation therapy, they are both ready to take on the world again 🤗.
Have a restful and reflective day. Let that inner light shine through.
A very Happy and Healthy New Year from Optimum Vision and Eye Care!

Vision is so much more than 20/20 eyesight. A functional vision examination can reveal dysfunctions that may be the cause of headaches, balance issues and eye fatigue.
DID YOU KNOW?
A developmental optometrist can help to reduce the strain of near work as well as work with any other kinds of visual problems. The proper lenses along with vision therapy make a tremendous difference in an adult's ability to function at work or sports, just as with children of school age. Clinical results have shown that in-office vision therapy produces statistically significant improvement in vision symptoms for adults.

Posting with permission. This beautiful lady .krywko has been battling cancer for a year and half now. She has taken us all on her journey in the hopes of spreading ovarian cancer awareness and prevention. Anyone that has or had a loved one go through this knows how hard it is to watch someone you love suffer with the pain and uncertainty. When my friend and colleague called me to say she was experiencing double vision, I jumped into action. This was my chance to offer more than just my positive thoughts and prayers from the side lines. After an assessment, we found sector occlusion to be the quick and easy answer to relieve the double vision. Thankfully her vision returned to normal within a few days. Sudden onset double vision is an emergent situation. Please do not wait to seek help. Sending .krywko much love. A true cancer warrior 😘
We are thankful for family and friends, patients that have become friends….friends that have become family. Wishing you all a wonderful day of making memories.
