What your skincare labels aren’t telling you.
“Dermatologist recommended” and “hypoallergenic” aren’t standardized or regulated terms. Their presence doesn’t guarantee a product has been independently tested or reviewed by a governing body.
Claims like “no parabens, sulfates, phthalates, or dyes” don’t automatically mean a product is free of common allergens that can trigger skin reactions.
“Natural” doesn’t always mean gentler. Many natural ingredients like fragrances and botanical extracts can be highly sensitizing. In fact, some of the most common allergens come from natural sources, including plants and foods.
Reading past the buzzwords matters. What’s inside the formula is what your skin actually responds to.
