Have a Safe Day around the pool, or any body of water.

Tomorrow is Independence Day. A time for celebration and fun with friends and family. Please keep safety for your little ones and adults at the top of you agenda. Some safety Tips to consider:
POOL SAFETY TIPS: 1. have a WaterWatcher in the Pool Area at all times and rotate every 15 minutes. 2. Keep Pool Gate lock when no one is in the pool area. 3. Let Everyone know the rules: no diving, no running etc. 4. Keep phone, shepherds hook, etc nearby in the event of an emergency 5. Non swimmers wear a Lifeguard rated life jacket 6. Adults, use caution with alcohol when around water. Drowning is preventable....keep your eyes on your children...don't expect someone else is doing it. DO NOT prop the gate open.

Have a wonderful and safe 4th of July!!!

Today I read a story in the paper and heard one on the radio. This time of year is so dangerous for our little ones! As Parents and Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, friends and relatives: PLEASE BE ON THE ALERT! There have been 13 children that have died after being left in the car. Cars get so hot in such a short time and we lose children every year because of this. Never, Never leave a child in a car alone, even if just running in for something quick!

Then there is the Drownings that happen every year at this time. Always have an ADULT Water Watcher when there is activity around a pool. It doesn't matter how old the children are. Every year, little children, young children, Middle children, older children Teens drown. Don't let this happen to anyone in your circle of influence.

My hear is aching for the families of those that are going through one of these preventable tragedies. We can all help.

Back to school means back to routine. Many children in grades 1-5 should still be in a booster seat or, in some cases, a five-point harness. To see if your child is ready to ride without a booster, check out this fit test: https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle-safety/seat-belts

important information about infant car seats

Most children will outgrow their infant seats by height long before they reach the weight limit. If the top of a childโ€™s head is within one inch of the top of the shell of the seat, itโ€™s time to transition.

This is great advise....

As we embark on another school year, the challenges of the school drop-off line begin. Take time to arrange your vehicle so your children can get in and out without obstructions.

July is National Fireworks Safety month (for obvious reasons!) and we're here to remind you how you can keep your little one protected during the upcoming holiday fun!
๐ŸŽ† Always keep young children a safe distance away from fireworks, sparklers, and grills.
๐ŸŽ† Younger children may need ear protection if you're heading out to see a big fireworks display. Big sounds aren't just scary, they can be damaging to young ears.
๐ŸŽ† Sparklers and other small fireworks should always be handled by an adult. While it might seem like fun for little ones to run around the backyard with a sparkler, they're actually quite dangerous for toddlers. If your toddler insists on holding something fun, a lightweight flashlight can keep them happy and participating in the fun, while also staying safe!
