🐟 The omega-3 supplement provided two key fatty acids: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, 500 mg) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, 250 mg). I personally take at least twice that amount of each daily. Make sure it is GMP certified for purity as many supplements are tainted with heavy metals.

😊 I challenge you to begin something simple. It might feel a bit uncomfortable for some at first—almost awkward—but stay with it. When you see someone walking past you at the store or work, make eye contact and smile. If it feels natural, even say quiet hello.

Some people won’t respond. Not because they are unkind, but because we’ve trained ourselves to look away, to move quickly, to stay guarded.

But others will smile back.

You’ll never know what people are carrying. Maybe they just had a fight with a friend. Maybe they received difficult news. Maybe they are simply tired. In that moment you might be the only person that day that not only acknowledges them, but presents a sense of joy.

It has been said that it takes less effort to smile than to frown. Regardless, one thing is certain, a smile changes the room. Put yourself out there and lead with joy!

STAY HUMBLE…

Intellectual arrogance is not only a state of ignorance, it’s a sure fire way to alienate people. Nobody likes a Know-It-All! The character trait I most admire in people is humility.

Omega-3 fatty acids are biologically linked to dementia risk because they are used to make signaling molecules that actively regulate inflammation, including inflammation within the brain. Chronic brain inflammation is increasingly recognized as a contributor to neurodegeneration.

Only supplement with high quality sources that have been tested and are clear of heavy metal contamination!

EXERCISE FOR DEPRESSION

💪🏻Exercise may not be better than medications or psychological therapy for treating depression… but it’s just as good.

That’s the conclusion of a new meta-analysis, the largest and most rigorous review ever conducted on the effects of exercise for clinical depression.

It found that, compared to no treatment or placebo, exercise had moderate to large effects on reducing depression symptoms, and compared to psychotherapy (e.g., CBT) and antidepressants, there was little to no difference. Exercise wasn’t significantly better, but it wasn’t worse either.

For me personally, exercise has been a game changer. I’ve found it to be the most effective way to help me navigate both depression and anxiety. Just a little everyday can make a huge difference! 😊
