BACK TO SCHOOL PREP. Many schools are starting back up but things will be different. There are things you can do to help your kiddo with the transition and minimize any anxiety. 1. If you’ve been home most of this time like most of us, unlikely your child has been wearing a mask for several hours a day. At home start in small increments of time and work your way up so first day back isn’t also their first day in masks. 2. Talk about and practice fun ways to say hi and great friends you haven’t seen in awhile without hugging. Elbow hi five, air hi fives. 3. Celebrate back to school! Let them choose their masks, continue your traditions - photos, special meal, new shoes. 4. Lots of great YouTube videos on mindfulness with mask wearing I have been recommending to patients
