FREE 🌟Awareness Through Movement🌟 classes Wednesday mornings at the Etowah Library 📚 Register at hendersonpl.libcal.com 🪷

Join us for these fun, gentle mindful movement classes from Feldenkrais Method®. You’ll be guided through slow and comfortable movements aimed at discovering greater ease and range of motion. Most lessons take place comfortably lying on your back, side, or front, but you may also stand, walk, or sit in a chair. These classes help a wide range of people, from those struggling with movement and mobility to those who are fit and have more flexibility.

The instructor, Alex Toenniges, is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner and Awareness Through Movement® Teacher who graduated from a four-year Feldenkrais® Professional Training Program in New York City in 2019.

Registration Required: Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a blanket or towel to lie on.

How are your feet feeling? If they're a little sore and achy you may have weak feet.

Weak Feet = Poor Balance

“Weakness and disuse of intrinsic foot muscles contribute to dysfunction in foot and toe alignment and sensory input, which may lead to instability and falls in older adults. The aim of the systemic review (see below) was to report the effects of instrinsic foot muscles strengthening interventions on functional mobility in adults aged 65 +.”

The Feldenkrais Institute of Arizona is dedicated to teaching the Feldenkrais Method to the public. We teach in two different ways, and help to make the things each person does easier, more efficient, and more pleasurable. This is a mind-body approach combining movement and awareness to help you move and live more comfortably. Classes and individual sessions are available in Scottsdale, Arizona, and help you rediscover lost abilities. Students regularly report a feeling of relaxation, feeling energized, and a positive new experience in their own bodies.
