The ABORTION THING
As an introduction I am a Catholic born and raised. I'm also a member of Knights of Columbus 4th Degree. I'm a parent to 3 adopted daughters, 10 grandchildren of which 2 are from Invitro fertilization. I believe a pregnant mother with existing children is more important than the fetus she is carrying.
If tRump wins , believe me, IVF will be disallowed and women will be required to carry a fetus regardless of health full term. Which means, if you support MAGA you are my enemy.
Now the Book excerpt.
The Political Thing About Religion-
The ABORTION Thing
No where is found in the Bible that abortion is wrong or a sin or when a fetus becomes a living thing. While growing up the first time I was cognizant of any church ruling about abortions was during the papacy of Pope Pius IX, the anti-semitic Pope who sold the Jews out to Hi**er and the N***s during WWII. Why do you suppose Rome and the papacy were never damaged during the war?
Pius and the Catholics were the first who opposed abortion, not other religions,and sold the idea that life began at conception. Penalty at any stage was excommunication.
(As a footnote I found later that a generous financial donation $$$$ through a bishop or hierarchy could absolve the excommunicated). Obviously money talks.
The question of does life begin at conception is neither a unanimous belief in the history of Christianity nor classic American Protestant Doctrine.
It is not abortion or murder until the " quickening" of the child, when the mother feels movement APPROXIMATELY 18 weeks of pregnancy. In 1968 Evangelical leaders stated that the preservation of a fetus may have to be abandoned to maintain full and secure life. In the late 20th century politically inspired judges began a political anti-abortion mantra concocted by Republican operatives to create a conservative Catholic Protestant voting block capable of taking over the GOP and implanting their political vision throughout the country. ( It's happening today)This in itself should be a primary reason why the Supreme Court Justices should recuse themselves as part of the Constitutions separation of church and state.
Finally, Catholic theology believes in outlawing reproductive technology such as IVF and birth control to protect its belief that life begins at conception. Yet as far back as 354 AD , one of its own, Saint Augustine argued that a connected fetus did not become a living human until they were "ensouled" . When God gave them a soul at birth. It is not murder if it is not "ensouled" because it is not a human being.
Who do you listen to? Sould you follow judges, politicians, Saints, theology, science, the Pope? It's not in the Bible.
In my opinion it's in your heart ❤️ regardless of what you hear or read.
The Mother is the most important element in the family. Not the male.
