Are you, or your partner, so focused on success that it’s impacting your relationship? Maybe you’re a stay-at-home parent whose partner is married to their job or their business, or maybe you’re the one who is out there building an empire. Whatever your story, you’re not alone. High-achievers and their partners face unique challenges.

Jean-Paul Gravel, founder of ThroughConversation, has spent more than a decade of his life coaching extremely accomplished people and helping them optimize every aspect of their professional and personal lives.

He has worked with countless couples who have built the life of their dreams, only to find themselves deeply unsatisfied in their relationships. The passion is gone, and despite their extraordinary career success, their marriage is barely hanging on. Gradually, the relationship issues start to affect work performance, threatening the life they’ve built. Many have tried therapy, but nothing seems to work.

The good news? According to Gravel, there are things you can do to radically change your relationship, with or without your partner’s buy-in. More on that below, but first things first.

Jean-Paul's interview in Forbes just came out.

Forbes spoke to Jean-Paul about the very important but often overlooked topic of Executive Anxiety.

While many believe that successful executives and entrepreneurs are able to handle stress and anxiety better than others, studies show that a lot of leaders suffer from often crippling anxiety. Albeit it’s a special kind. It comes from having too many goals and too little time. These stressors add up, and this drive toward continual accomplishment can lead to burnout and anxiety.

If not effectively addressed, executive anxiety can become a very serious problem, negatively impacting everything from physical health, sleep, cognitive function, memory and focus, to personal and professional relationships. Anxiety sufferers are often missing out on opportunities for business growth. In other words, ignoring anxiety will impact job performance, health, and overall happiness.

The good news—overcoming executive anxiety is completely possible, and it can happen very quickly, by retraining and improving the mind to shift its perspective.

Jean-Paul Gravel, the founder of ThroughConversation, has worked with many extraordinarily successful people helping them overcome burnout and self-doubt, take their careers to new heights, and repair their marriages.

Jean-Paul’s clients achieve freedom from anxiety in just weeks.

The right change in perspective is the key to exponential growth in life and business. It does stake some effort, but it’s well worth it for the leader and the team.

You may have heard the fable about a frog being slowly boiled alive.

The idea is that if you suddenly put a frog into boiling water it will know to jump out. But if you put a frog in tepid water which is then brought to a boil slowly, the frog will be cooked to death without really noticing it.

Even if this fable is not true, it conveys a powerful message that is easy to understand.

This story is a metaphor for the inability or unwillingness of people to react to a danger that arises gradually over time, rather than suddenly.

Why am I bringing this up?

Because I want you to consider that a lot of people live exactly like that frog.

As time goes by, they begin to experience declines in their emotional and mental health, or their relationships. Slowly. Gradually. Little by little.

First, they begin feeling a little more stressed out than usual. They don’t really pay attention because – well, stress is often seen as a normal part of life.

They may find themselves caught up inside their mind, worrying about things that shouldn’t really occupy their attention quite that much.

Perhaps, they begin to wake up at night or have trouble falling asleep.

They may begin feeling more detached, not present, not as happy as they used to be.

They find themselves more nervous, or doubtful.

This can start impeding on their relationships, little by little.

They don’t have fun with their spouse anymore. Next, they notice that they argue more than usual. Oh well, they say, it’s been a hard week.

Then they notice that their phone is not ringing as much, as they’re not quite as pleasant to be around anymore, and friends and business associates begin to feel their changing energy.

But they still don’t really notice. They don’t really pay attention. They are just waiting for things to get better again. They say to themselves “It’s been a hard day/week/month/year… It should get better…”

Well, it often doesn’t get better over time, and actually gets worse.

This is because the mind gets caught up in the habitual way of thinking.

If you spend enough time in the worrying, nervous, …. (fill in the blanks) …. state, this state of mind becomes your new normal.

And it’s extremely difficult to get out of by yourself.

That’s where the frog analogy comes in.

Most people live exactly like that frog.

They don’t notice, or rather don’t acknowledge the small changes…

…Until the anxiety is really hitting them hard and the pain is so strong that they can’t ignore it anymore.

…Until the marriage is falling apart, and the divorce is looming on the horizon.

But at that point it might already be too late because the real damage has been done.

We see this more often than you may think.

That’s why we’ve created the Anxiety Danger Quiz that will help you assess where you are at (that is, how close you are to being boiled without noticing).

Here’s another thing I want you to consider – you don’t need to wait until the temperature rises to 100 C. Or 80 C. Or even 60 C.

Because at that point you’ve already lost a lot of time and missed out on a lot of opportunities.

You may want to start jumping out earlier, so that you have more time to live and enjoy your life.

And we offer a solution that will help you untangle the thoughts in your mind and start living with more passion, purpose, and peace of mind.

So that you can wake up in the morning and look forward to you day (regardless of COVID-19 and other external circumstances) because you have a happy, healthy, and positive outlook on life, and you have amazing, loving and caring relationships with people around you.

It’s easy – as long as you know how to do it. And that’s exactly what we specialize in.

Take action now, and don’t be that frog.

Not everything about COVID19 is bad.

True, the health and the economic implications are staggering, and will negatively impact many people.

But your experience of life is not determined by the events themselves but by your perception of the events. The story you tell yourself is up to you.

There is something positive in every situation.

So, let’s do an exercise together.

POSITIVE THINGS THAT MAY COME OUT OF THE COVID19 PANDEMIC:

Community support. As each member of society, we now have to reconsider our individual choices (e.g. stay at home vs. go outside) as this can have a big impact on our neighbours. We need to learn to love and support each other and make choices with consideration of others.

Closer family connections. Paradoxically, “isolation” can actually mean more connection. As families are self-isolating in their homes, they spend a lot more time together than they are used to. This brings huge opportunities to grow closer as a family unit.

Our clients are using this time of challenge as an opportunity to grow.

While some may be thinking about all the negative things and problems, think about how YOU can use this time to become a better version of you – and win more, while helping others.

You can add your thoughts in the comments if you like.

Every day you have somewhere around 75,000 thoughts.

95% of those thoughts are unconscious. You don’t even know that you are having them. You are not aware of them.

2/3 of your thoughts are repeated thoughts that you are having every day, day after day. You thought them today. And yesterday. And the day before. And the day before.

Essentially, your mind is talking to itself about the same things, day after day. And – you have no idea what it is talking about.

So your mind has a mind of its own, and you don’t really have much of a say on what’s happening inside your brain.

But even though you may not be aware of all those conversations, those unconscious thoughts are like little pieces of programming that are spinning in your head day after day and create the reality of your life. Your experience of life.

Even though is sounds weird, it's completely normal, it’s just how a human mind works for whatever reason.

But here is the real question.

How many of those thoughts are helping you propel in life and achieve your goals, whatever those goals are?

According to science, 86% of those thoughts are NOT helping you progress in the direction you would like to go. They are constantly in your way, even if you don't know it.

So if you are feeling stressed out, if you are noticing unproductive emotional patterns, if you react to life and to people in a way that doesn't always work for you, you can rest assured that it has to do with those pieces of code that are running inside your mind, without you being aware of them.

You need to learn how to untangle, how to dissolve those unhealthy pieces of code in your brain, in order to get un-stuck in the way of thinking, feeling, and acting.

Once you master your mind, once you learn how to undo those piece of code, your entire reality of life will positively transform almost instantly.

You will be surprised at how easy life can be when you get out of your own way.

You'll be amazed at how incredible you will feel when you wake up in the morning.

How much easier it will be to deal with stress and everyday life's challenges.

All you need is the right guidance.

And it’s not by talking through things, and analyzing what went wrong and why. This is not going to solve your problems once and for all, and possibly quite the opposite.

You need a method that will help you re-train the mind to work for you, to help you live a happy and fulfilled life, and achieve your most desirable goals.

This is exactly what we specialize in.

What does creating a happier life have to do with riding a bicycle?

A few things.

Both have to do with how your mind responds to situations.

And how tenacious your mind is.

You might have seen this video that went viral a few years ago – it was called “The Backwards Brain Bicycle.” If you are not one of 23M people who watched it, you can watch it here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fx1V5KT1Lwo

Essentially, it was a very simple yet clever experiment illustrating neuroplasticity – the brain's ability to create neural pathways associated with specific thoughts or behaviors.

You see, most people know how to ride a bicycle, and can do so fairly easily.

But if you change only one thing – the direction of rotation of the wheel – in the normal bicycle, if you turn the handlebar right, the bicycle turns right, but in this case it was engineered to be the opposite – a task that used to be easy became incredibly difficult.

And it took many months of determination and perseverance to make the brain re-learn to ride the bike the opposite way.

But when it did, it happened almost instantaneously. And once it happened, the task of riding the backward bike became easy.

What this experiment shows is that once your mind is settled into a specific pattern, its response will be much the same every time, and it can’t easily switch from one pattern to another.

Unless the mind is “untrained” and “retrained” to do a different thing.

In your interaction with life - your work, others, and even yourself - your mind does much the same thing.

Once it settles into a specific path of doing things a certain way, it continues on the same path. If you feel like you are repeating the same patterns of thought or behavior, it’s because you are. And even if you are not noticing it, rest assured – you do it anyway. That’s how the mind operates.

That is why some people settle in the same thought patterns of worry, fear, upset, or sadness.

It’s somewhat similar to learning to ride a bike – your mind learns to react a certain way and it continues to do so over and over and over.

Problem is, those emotions and thought patterns can become engrained in your mind. With time, they can lead to chronic stress, burnout, anxiety, or depression.

Unless the mind is “untrained” and “retrained” to do a different thing.

Now, if you want to change something about how you react to situations in your life, you may find it challenging to do it yourself.

This is because your mind is quite literally wired a certain way. Those reactions are burnt into your brain circuitry, and it takes a lot of awareness, experience, and determination to change those habitual response patterns.

But you can dramatically shorten this path by using a proven system that helps achieve those changes in your emotional and thought patterns quickly and effectively.

That’s exactly what ThroughConversationTM is.

It's a proven and predictable process that helps your mind shift, and remain in the new state - one that is much more conducive to a happier and healthier life.

And it is very effective: www.throughconversation.com

Depression and anxiety are epidemics of the 21st century. The number of people diagnosed with depression is said to increase by about 20% per year. Numbers vary, depending on who you ask and how they are measured. But the bottom line is that a very sizable number of people are depressed or anxious t...
