Seizures can be scary, but understanding them helps you act with confidence. Epilepsy is a neurological condition that causes recurring, unprovoked seizures. Seizures may look like shaking, stiffening, staring spells, unusual movements, or brief confusion.
Triggers such as stress, lack of sleep, illness, flashing lights, or missed medication can increase risk in susceptible children. There are two main types of seizures, focal and generalized, and many children respond very well to treatment.
If you have concerns, early evaluation matters.
