✨ Birth Story: Audrey’s Beautiful Arrival ✨
At exactly 40 weeks, Audrey decided she was ready to meet her family. When I arrived as her doula, mama was already 4cm at 6:37am, calm and grounded, breathing beautifully through her contractions. We spent some time on the birth ball, swaying, breathing, and staying connected through each wave.
Things moved fast-only 20 minutes later, she was 7cm, and by 7:04am, that powerful urge to push took over. I reminded her to trust her body, breathe deeply, and follow her instincts.
At 7:06am, she began to push and in just five minutes, at 7:11am, sweet Audrey was born! 🌸 She came out with her little arm by her head (a true superhero pose!) and a bit of meconium, but she was strong and perfect from the start.
Mama had a small tear but handled every moment with grace. Audrey was in the left occiput anterior position, and in one of the most empowering moments of the morning, mama cut her own cord- fully owning her birth experience.
We moved into that peaceful golden hour. Audrey’s Apgars were 7 and 8, and by 7:42am, she had her first latch and was nursing like a champ.
I helped mama get comfortable, offered her and grandma some snacks and water, and we took a quiet moment to soak it all in before I slipped out around 10am- heart full and in awe of the strength, love, and beauty that filled that room.
Welcome, Audrey- you were born surrounded by calm, strength, and so much love. 💕
