This means so much to us—we are so excited for this collaboration! 💚

At Thaxton Holistic Wellness Center, supporting children and families and creating inclusive, accessible spaces is truly close to our hearts. Sensory needs are so often overlooked, and seeing a dedicated Sensory Room come to life—where every child can feel safe, regulated, and included—is incredibly meaningful to us.

We’re deeply grateful to be part of this beautiful project and proud to support a space that celebrates neurodiversity, play, and connection. We can’t wait to see the Imagination Station open its doors and watch the magic unfold for the kids and families in our community. 🌈✨

🌈 Huge Shoutout to Thaxton Holistic Wellness Center! 🌈✨
We have some sensory-tastic news! 🎉 A massive thank you to Thaxton Holistic Wellness Center 💚 for sponsoring our brand-new IMAGINATION STATION Sensory Room! 🧩🎈

What exactly is a Sensory Room? 🤔
Think of it as a "brain-break" playground! 🧠💥 It’s a specially designed space filled with calming lights 💡, fun textures 🧸, and interactive tools 🌀. It helps kids:
• 🧘 Chill Out: Perfect for when the world feels a little too loud! 🎧🤫
• 🧠 Level Up: Boosts focus and motor skills through play! 🚀🙌
• 🌈 Feel Included: A safe space where every child can shine! ⭐🏠

Having this room makes our space more inclusive than ever! 🤝 It ensures every kiddo—no matter their sensory needs—can join in on the fun! 🏃‍♂️💨🎈

We are SO grateful to Thaxton Holistic Wellness Center for helping us bring this magic to life! ✨💖 Stay tuned for a first look inside!

🚧 Opening Update! 🚧
We are working hard behind the scenes! Pending the final touches on construction, we are hoping to officially open our doors late next month!🤞🏻🎉🥳

When the noise fades, feelings can surface. Give yourself permission to rest, reflect, and heal at your own pace. Slowing down isn’t failure—it’s your nervous system finding balance again, your mind and body recalibrating after prolonged stress. Therapy can be a supportive space to process and reset. We are here to help you navigate that process with intention.

✨ New Year’s Eve Reflection ✨

As the year closes, give yourself permission to stay in the present.
No rehashing the past.
No dragging old shame, guilt, or regrets into what’s ahead.

Tonight is about release.
Letting go of what no longer serves you.
Releasing the white noise —
the expectations,
the shoulds and should nots,
the pressure to be anyone other than who you are right now.

Hold tightly to what nourishes you.
Let go of everything that drains you.

Gently narrow your focus to what truly matters:
🌱 What you want for now
🌱 What you’re building for your future
🌱 The small, steady steps it takes to get there

Pause and look around.
Notice the love that already exists.
Let it steady you. Let it remind you that you’re not alone.
The support you may not always see — but is still holding you.

Here’s to 2026 — grounded, intentional, and present. ✨

❤️ School Fire Donation Drive – Supporting Our Autism Support Classrooms ❤️

After a rectn tragic fire, the Autism Support teachers at Solomon Plains Elementary Scool (Wilkes-Barre) are working hard to rebuild and restock their classrooms so their students can continue learning in a safe, supportive environment.

We are asking our community for help by donating new or gently used items to replace essential classroom materials. They are requesting basic classroom supplies, essential items, sensory play items, and gently/lightly used toys.

✨ Items They Need Include (but are not limited to):
• Lightly used toys
• Sensory items (stress balls, sensory sand, fidgets, play-doh, etc.)
• Crayons
• Markers
• Pencils
• Glue sticks
• Construction paper
• Kid-safe scissors
• Hand sanitizer
• Clorox wipes
• Basic classroom/school supplies
• Disney stuffed animals
• chewy necklaces
• tape
• sensory toys (such as fidgets)
• Classroom rugs
• bean bag chairs
• florescent light covers

These items play a critical role in supporting students with autism by helping with regulation, engagement, and learning.

📦 Drop-Off Information:
Donation boxes will be available in each of our offices for easy drop-off. You can notify Sara when the items are ready to be picked up.

Every donation—big or small—makes a meaningful difference for these students and their teachers. 💙
Thank you for coming together to support Solomon Plains during this time of need.

** Items can be dropped off at any of our locations UP UNTIL JANUARY 16, 2026. There is a designated collection box in each waiting room.

Thank you!! It is truly amazing to be a part of such a supportive community.

✨ Happy Holidays from all of us at Thaxton Wellness✨

As the holiday season arrives, we want to take a moment to remind our community of something very important: you matter. 💙

For many, this time of year brings joy and connection—but it can also bring stress, grief, loneliness, or complicated emotions. Whatever you’re feeling, please know that you are not alone. Your feelings are valid, and support is always okay to ask for. ☃️

We encourage you to reach out to the people in your life as often as you need—friends, family, chosen family, or trusted supports. Connection can be healing, even in small moments. ❄️

From our hearts to yours, we’re wishing you peace, warmth, and gentleness this holiday season. And if you need extra support, we’re here for you. 🤍

🌤️ SEASONAL PREPARATION 🌤️

As the seasons change and holidays approach, it’s common to notice shifts in mood, motivation and energy levels.

☀ ️ Reduced sunlight can disrupt your body’s internal clock and lower serotonin/melatonin levels that help regulate mood and sleep.

This can lead to:
• Low mood, irritability
• Fatigue or oversleeping
• Changes in appetite
• Difficulty concentrating

🎄 The holiday season brings additional strain and emotional waves we didn’t see coming.

Coping Strategies:
✨ Prioritize sunlight — consider a daylight map or brief outdoor walks
✨ Keep a consistent routine with structured or extra sleep/rest
✨ Set realistic expectations
✨ Stay connected — it’s easy to isolate or lose track of socialization

💛 Remember to set your own standards and let go of expectations that aren’t serving you.

Please allow a few extra minutes for travel and use caution while navigating the detour.
If you have difficulty finding us or need assistance, don’t hesitate to call the office 570-904-7363 or reach out to your therapist directly using their phone number.

Moments of wonder await—on a walk, in the yard, or right outside your door.

Here is a brief list of activities you can do in nature. These can be done while out on a nature walk in the woods, playing in the yard, or walking in your neighborhood.

- Take photographs on a walk—focus on themes like calming, inspiring, wonder, or miracles. Draw or paint what you see.
- Use items in nature as paint, crushing berries or mud as paint.
- Create images or quotes with sidewalk chalk, or draw in mud or sand with a stick.
- Collect sticks, stones, leaves, petals—assemble into a sculpture or mandala (perfect for Fall!).
- Get unstuck, find a “sit spot” in a park or yard-visit weekly to notice changes.
- Write about nature, engage more than just your sight.
- Let every feeling guide your poetry.
