I used to have severe nonverbal autism. I pushed myself through years of therapy though and 3 months ago today I graduated to become a doctor. Still can't believe it.

On May 19, 2015, we lost our beautiful Samantha Anne Milliken. She was the driving force behind keeping our Raise Your Voice Talent Show going. Her speech on bullying and slide show touched many. When you watched it, it left no room to wonder how devastating the effects of bullying is. Far to often, bullying goes unchecked.
Samantha's experience of a thoughtless young man when she was 14, made her a fierce advocate for others. This young men was charged with a crime. However, it took a long time for his trial and Samantha relocated to another school. No child should have to leave their school.
Samantha poured her knowledge into righting the wrongs. She understood how abuse on any level impacted the soul and spirit of an individual. She made sure she spread love to all who needed it. Her smile and warm spirit was a home for many who were blessed to find a place to dwell.
We will continue Samantha's efforts to end bullying by spreading love. It is the only antidote to violence. Those who choose to love make the world a better place to be. We will miss Samantha dearly, and her outstanding efforts to make the world a better place to be. I don't think any of us will ever forget when she stood in front of a room and told us, "This is our wake up call!" We heard you, we hear you and we will continue hearing you every single day. Say Yes to Love... RIP Samantha. Watch over all of us as we continue to love others. We pray that your work will continue in heaven and that your work will carry on in ways that will have no limits. Thank you for teaching us many things in your 25 years. May we remember them all. May we remember that we all are in need of love. Dream Big our angel. Spread love to all.
