Our deepest sympathies are with the Stout family as it was our privilege to have been able to provide comfort care for Valerie in her time of need.

🙏🏻Valerie Sisson Stout, CRT, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, surrounded by her family after a six-year battle with ALS.

Valerie was born the day before her mother’s birthday in Scranton on September 7, 1970, to the late Ralph and Catherine Clark Sisson.

She graduated from Valley View High School in 1988, where she was a member of the gymnastics team. She later graduated from the Luzerne County Community College Respiratory Therapist program in 1992.

She started her career at Wayne Memorial Hospital in 1992 and went on to work at several local hospitals, including Mid Valley, Marian Community, Allied Services Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Moses Taylor. She ended her career where she started, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, in the position she was so passionate about Pulmonary Rehab Coordinator. Valerie was a true patient advocate and treated her patients as she would want her family to be treated.

Valerie is survived by her husband, Steve Stout; daughter Brittany and husband James Dougherty, and her granddaughter Clara Catherine Dougherty; son Jack Baronski and partner Abigail Marion; stepson Steven Stout and partner Kaylin Brundage and daughter Emma; brother Ralph Sisson and wife Cathy, and her favorite nephew and niece Jeremy and Jillian Sisson; her grandfather Leonard Rebernik; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Linda Stout; aunts Ellen Lahey and Judith Neary; and several cousins.

Her life was dedicated to her children before anything else. She spent her time involved in their school and sports and was their biggest fan, as she liked to say. She loved cheering them on at dance recitals, football games, wrestling matches, cross country and track meets. She was loud and proud and never missed an opportunity to support her kids. She put her family above all.

In her spare time, she found gardening to be therapeutic. She could bring any plant back to life. She was also the Valley Wrestling Club treasurer from 2014 to 2019.

Valerie loved weeping willow trees, thunderstorms, sunflowers, Notre Dame football, and Jeeps. She used to rock her children on the front porch during summer thunderstorms when they were young. Most of all, she was proud of being a mother to her children. They brought her the most joy and fulfillment in her life. Her husband is the most caring and giving man, and she was so very lucky to have him.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sheerer, Johns Hopkins ALS Clinic, Allied Services Hospice Center, and most importantly Laura Marion for the outstanding care during her final days.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM in Christ the King Parish at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald, PA. Our deepest sympathies are with the Peron family as it was our privilege to have been chosen to provide comfort care for Bob in his time of need. Our hospice team is humbled by the kind words of gratitude and memorial gift designation in his obituary below.

🙏🏻Robert "Bob" Peron, a longtime resident of Shavertown, passed away at home on the evening of Monday, March 2, 2026, surrounded by his family following a short but brave battle with cancer. He was 65 years young. On Aug. 6, 1983, he married the love of his life and best friend, June (Bastis) Peron.

Born in East Orange, N.J., on Nov. 6, 1960, Bob was the loving son of Eleanor (Boyd) Peron of Shavertown and the late Robert E. Peron. A graduate of John F. Kennedy Memorial High School, he then studied at Williamson College of the Trades.

Following school, he began a 43-year career at the Berwick Nuclear Power Plant, where he would retire as a journeyman mechanic. He forged such deep friendships with those he worked with that each and every one of his co-workers became his extended family. This was evident by the recent outpouring of love in visits, calls, messages, and, most importantly, reminiscing.

Bob possessed an innate ability to connect with anyone he met. Humble, selfless, and caring, he would give the shirt off his back to a complete stranger. Family, however, always came first. He was the ultimate husband, son, dad, and grandpa (Pop Pop). As a dad, he was Kim and Bobby's biggest fan. As a Pop Pop to his legacy, Olivia and Ella, he was just the same.

From holding a position on the Lake Lehman School Board to coaching countless baseball and soccer teams to being the go-to phone call for anything, he was always present and active in his children's lives. As much as he was a sports fan (Giants, Mets, Yankees, Nittany Lions), he loved collecting model trains just as much. A fixture at local train shows, his personal displays were second to none.

By simply being himself, he left an impact on anyone he met. Although he passed away much too young, Bob's memory will certainly live on.

Family meant everything to Bob. He is survived by his wife, June; his mother, Eleanor; his children, Kimberly Kenehan and husband, Martin, of Clarks Summit; and Robert Peron of West Wyoming; two granddaughters, Olivia and Ella Kenehan; and beloved cousins and countless friends who never left his side.

His family would like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Bruce Saidman and his staff, Allied Hospice, along with Bob's family and friends/neighbors, who were collectively nothing short of amazing in their care and compassion.

A celebration of Bob's life is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday at The Banks — a waterfront venue — 304 Kennedy Blvd., Pittston. Family and friends may pay their respects at the venue from 4 p.m. to service time.

Memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to either Allied Services Hospice c/o 100 Abington Executive Park, Clarks Summit, PA 18411, or Medical Oncology Associates Prescription Fund c/o 382 Pierce St., Kingston, PA 18704.

Arrangements are under the care of Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge. Visit the funeral home's website for directions or to leave a condolence.

Our deepest sympathies are with the Mahon and Conaboy families as it was our privilege to have been able to provide comfort care for Jo in her time of need.

🙏🏻Josephine “Jo” Mahon passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026. Born on April 12, 1936, in the Bulls Head section of Scranton, she was the daughter of Mary Russo Costanzo and Joseph Costanzo. Jo treasured her Italian heritage and often spoke of her childhood surrounded by her large, close‑knit family.

After marrying her husband, Paul, the couple later settled in Clarks Green, where they built a warm home and lasting friendships. Married for 57 years, Jo cared for Paul with extraordinary devotion during his long illness. When he could no longer work, she dedicated herself to the Scranton School District, where she spent 38 years supporting special‑needs students and forming lifelong bonds with colleagues.

Jo was admired for her beauty, grace, and impeccable style. She loved decorating her home—especially for Christmas—and hosting family and friends. Shopping trips with loved ones were among her favorite pastimes.

Her greatest joy was her family. A loving mother and “Mom Mom,” Jo poured her heart into her children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren. Her grandsons were the center of her world, and she delighted in watching them grow into husbands and fathers. Her six great‑grandchildren brought her immeasurable happiness, and she proudly surrounded herself with their photos.

Jo is survived by her daughter, Mary Ellen Conaboy, and her husband, Attorney Bill Conaboy; her son Michael and his husband, Brad White; her sister‑in‑law, Palma Yanni; grandchildren: Attorney Bill Conaboy and wife Dr. Rachael (Peters) Conaboy, Attorney Andrew Conaboy and his wife Laura (Sharkey), Attorney Jordann Conaboy and his wife Dr. Samantha (Kelly) Conaboy, and her six great‑grandchildren, Jack, Nola, Warren, Leo, Marion (Mimi), and Paulmer.

She was predeceased by her husband Paul, her son Paul Jr., and her siblings Pat Yanni, Carmella Emanuel, and Sister Rose Shoener.

The family extends sincere thanks to the caregivers and staff at Allied Services Terrace Assisted Living, Allied Services Transitional Unit, Allied Services Hospice all of which were a blessing in her life, Dr. Richard Weinberger, and the Sinclair Nursing Agency for their compassionate care.

A celebration of life will be private at a later date.
