Meet Kevin Wilson, Marywood Social Work Class of 2025. They currently work as a case manager at a hospital. In addition to their role as a case manager, Kevin is also a community organizer and a member of Coalition PA 7 United, a group dedicated to educating the community about legislative processes through town halls. Their work helps ensure that community members stay informed and connected with the individuals who represent them.

Kevin recently presented at our Lehigh Valley location on the DeSales University campus on Monday, October 6th. They discussed ways social workers can become more politically active, about the importance and impact of elections/politics in social work, and spoke about the impact the government shutdown has had on service workers in Northampton County, affecting social workers, individuals receiving services, and the broader community.

Looking ahead, Kevin hopes to make political social work their full-time career. 🏛️📢

Marywood University hosted the Diwali celebration organized by the Bhutanese Community of Scranton on Oct 19th at the Nazareth Student Center. Mayor Cognetti of Scranton graced the celebration as the chief guest. Selina Shrestha, Director of the School of Social Work and MSW program at Marywood attended the celebration with family. 🪔✨
