If you know someone or a child how is struggling with hearing loss and they can’t afford hearing aids, look into the Starkey Cares Foundation through Starkey.

They provide free hearing aids to people who qualify based on financial need. You’ll need: A audiogram, Proof of income or hardship,
I applied through a participating audiologist or hearing provider in my area

There may be a small fitting or application fee, but the hearing aids themselves are donated. All mine was free because the audiologist I found offered a free evaluation

It’s worth asking your local hearing provider about the Starkey Cares program.
The only thing is they only donate older devices.

My Story

My story is simple. I just recently bought my new hearing aids at the ending of 2018. I found myself looking for my hearing aids more than I was able to wear them and I need them because with my hearing loss my ears ring constantly without my hearing aids. Hearing Aids keeps the noise from being so loud in my head. So I really need them on constantly. If I go without them at night I wake up to sirens. Not cool. It’s bad.

So I said let me see if I can come up with something and I did. I use silver jewelry for my hearing aid safety chain. I decided to make the product since everywhere I look online was just plain items. I think Kids needs characters. Adults need dazzle, Men need charm. So I’m coming up with a women's, kids, men, collections of safety clips. I got the kids and they are so cute. I got cartoon characters, flower, my little pony, Superman, Spider-Man and a lot more popular styles for kids. All you do is clip them on to the hearing aids connect them to your clothes and go about your day without the anxiety. I knew this would be a good market to explored. Plus, I could offer a product that’s needed. This Is just the start of something really special for me.

I thought adding to my line @ Mary’s Hearing Aid Boutique so I seen that I could also make the charms to hang from the hearing aid it’s self. I’ve always been able to repair my own jewelry so adding this product as an accessories for my customers was brilliant.

I had a problem also with the comfort of my hearing aids. So that gave me another product to add to the Mary’s Hearing Aid Boutique Accessory line. Hearing Aid Covers is a must for those with hearing loss. Hearing aids are so uncomfortable to wear all day. I can’t go without them. Hearing Aid covers also help protect them from getting wet. I’ve got into the shower with mine a lot. I’ve dropped them in the sink, toilet. And there not water proof either. I work in construction also wearing my hearing aids to work not covered was nerve recking. So afraid of getting them scared up or damaged. They have them online but there plain, so I now how to sew, why not make them fashionable or trendy. Let’s give them something to talk about right.
