Just a friendly reminder!
If you get a call that looks like it’s from your insurance company wanting to “review your 2026 plan,” please be careful!

Even though it may show your carrier’s name on caller ID, those callers do not know you, your doctors, or how your plan actually works. Most of my clients were referred by friends or family because I take time to make sure your plan truly fits your needs—and I’m here all year long to help.

Unfortunately, many carriers are trying to reduce the role of local brokers by calling behind our backs and switching clients into plans that might not be in their best interest. If a better plan existed, I would have already told you!

👉 Do not make any plan changes over the phone with someone calling from your insurance company.
👉 Call or text your broker first—and wait for a call back before agreeing to anything.
👉 You are not rushed! You can change your plan for a January 1st effective date until December 7th, and you also have January, February, and March to make a change during the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period.

If they switch your plan, you might not be able to get your old one back.
Please stay cautious and reach out if you’re unsure about any calls you receive.

Thank you,
Betty Jo Miller

⚠️ PLEASE STOP GIVING OUT YOUR MEDICARE ID NUMBER! ⚠️

I need to warn you because this is happening more than ever—and it’s hurting people who didn’t mean to do anything wrong.

In the last three months alone, several of my clients have had their Medicare plans changed WITHOUT their permission because they:

Called the insurance company directly with a question, or

Answered a call from a random call center, or

Gave their Medicare ID number to someone who “just needed to verify information.”

❗ The moment you give out your Medicare ID number, they can switch your plan—and they DO NOT care what happens to you.

And here’s the worst part:

Clients were lied to.

Their plans were changed behind their backs.

Medicare won’t let them file a grievance because “you gave your number out.”

I can’t undo it until the next enrollment period.

If I ever did something like that, I would be written up, investigated, and could lose my license. But call centers don’t care—because they don’t work for you.

✅ Please protect yourself:

Do NOT give your Medicare ID number to:

Your plan’s customer service line

Call centers or telemarketers

Anyone calling to “verify information”

Anyone offering a “better plan,” “free benefits,” or “updates”

✅ Who CAN you share it with?

Only me—your licensed agent who represents YOU and reviews your benefits EVERY YEAR.

I work hard to keep you in the right plan, with the right doctors, medications, and benefits. But if you give your number to strangers and they change your plan, I can’t fix it until the next enrollment—sometimes months later.

Please hear me on this:

STOP giving your Medicare ID number to anyone except me.
Those people don’t care about you—I do.

If you’re ever unsure, CALL ME FIRST.
I’d rather answer a quick question than try to fix a mess later.

Thank you for trusting me,
Betty Jo

https://comptroller.texas.gov/ I don't have a Google page to post on, but I just want to say that DeKemble was so kind and understanding with me this morning. I am extremely appreciative that he knew his business and knew how to help me, walk me through the things I needed to do, and get the right steps done quickly. Thank you, comptroller's office, for him! It's not every day we get to call a number and talk to someone who knows what's going on! Love it!
