PSHB – Medicare Part B Special Enrollment Period (SEP) You may be eligible to participate in a Medicare Part B Special Enrollment Period (SEP). The SEP applies to certain Postal Service annuitants and family members who are entitled to Medicare Part A but are not enrolled in Medicare Part B as of January 1, 2024. • During the SEP, you may be eligible to enroll in Medicare Part B without paying a late enrollment penalty. • The SEP runs from April 1, 2024, through September 30, 2024. • In March 2024, individuals eligible for the SEP were sent notification and instructions on how to sign up for Part B. • For annuitants enrolling in Medicare Part B during the PSHB SEP, the coverage effective date will be January 1, 2025.

Thanks to technological advances, it’s possible for thieves to capture a recording of your voice and then use a software program to generate an imitation “deepfake” version that can be used to impersonate you. “That voiceprint can be used to access your insurance or your financial institution or apply for a driver’s license,” Bruemmer says. The New York Times reported on a recent case in which a representative at a major bank received a call from a deepfake copy of a Florida investor’s voice, requesting that the bank move the man’s money elsewhere. Fortunately, the fraud attempt was spotted by the bank before the real investor lost his savings.

Bruemmer advises. “If someone needs to get hold of you, they can text you.” Bruemmer even is cautious about answering calls that appear to be from people on his contact list, since the call could be coming from a phone that’s been stolen or had its SIM card cloned, he says.

Medicare Peeps: Don't call the 1800 # to see if you qualify for grocery! Or whatever they are selling!
If you want to find out if you qualify for the Zero copays and extras $ towards groceries, you will need to know if your Monthly income is less than:
Single $1,526 Married $2,064
And pretty much nothing in the Bank, no extra land, Ect.
Then you can go to Texas Health and Human Services to see if you qualify by filling out the applicationby paper

Ask for the Senior Savings Program. If you qualify when you get your Letter that shows SLMB or QMB, you can sign up for other MEDICARE ADVANTAGE Plans that will help a little with Medical costs and additional groceries or utilities.

** Food stamps forms the same as above if you qualify even for $15.00 its still a little and every little bit helps right now.

To all the Medicare Peeps:
If you are among the few Americans who make the premium payment for Part B because you have not started your Social Security Income yet, do yourself a favor and create your MyMedicare.gov account. Then, set a reminder to check your Medicare Part B Premium payment history or set your Medicare Part B premium up on Auto draft.

Many people have called me over the last year to see if I could help.

They never received the Medicare bill, and one day, they went to the doctor to find out they no longer had Medicare Part B. Then, Medicare told them they had not made the premium payment in over 90 days. Then they remembered they had yet to receive a monthly bill or invoice!
No invoice, No delinquent notice, No cancelation notice.
Our Mail system is not perfect!
But to help protect yourself and prevent this from happening to you, you can easily create your account and check it quarterly or monthly.

If you receive Social Security Income, your Medicare Part B premiums are auto-drafted from your Social Security check each month.

To Medicare Advantage Peeps, please watch for your billing from UTMB. They may be charging you a facility charge on your Bill even though you paid your Co-Pay.
When you call UTMB customer service, they tell you you owe the charge. NO, YOU DO NOT!
You can call your Advantage plan and file a grievance against UTMB stating that they are overcharging you for your visits. If your Medicare Advantage plan says you owe a copay, and you pay it, you do not owe any other Facility charges! UTMB is not adjusting them when the Insurance company pays, and UTMB is at fault, not the Insurance company. Call your insurance company and let them know what is going on. They will work with UTMB to fix your bill. UTMB has done this for years, and their customer service needs to know that the billing department needs to adjust your plan appropriately.
