What’s been the most frustrating part of past weight loss attempts for you?
The constant hunger? The quick regain? Feeling like no matter how hard you try, the scale won’t budge long-term?

If you’re nodding along, you’re not alone—and it’s rarely about willpower.

The real obstacles are often deeper: insulin resistance, hormone imbalances, and a slowed metabolism from years of stress, disrupted sleep, or repeated restrictive dieting.

This year, make a New Year’s resolution that’s built to last—by addressing the root causes instead of just fighting the symptoms.

At Glow Health and Wellness, we take a functional medicine approach: comprehensive lab testing and virtual consultations to pinpoint what’s really going on, followed by personalized plans that often include advanced medical options like peptide therapies (semaglutide, tirzepatide) when they’re the right fit.

The outcome? Weight loss that feels sustainable, along with more energy, better mood, and confidence that doesn’t vanish when life gets busy.

If you’re ready to move past the yo-yo cycle in 2026, share your biggest frustration in the comments below.

Let’s have an honest conversation—this year can be different.

New Year's resolutions: Achieve sustainable weight loss. Glow Health and Wellness uses functional medicine for insulin resistance and peptide therapies.

Calling something “natural” does not make it harmless.
And it does not make it something you should have to live with.

Plenty of natural things cause pain.
Rashes. Inflammation. Degeneration. Mood disorders.
We do not ignore them simply because they occur naturally.

We treat them because untreated suffering has consequences.

Yet women are routinely told that their symptoms are “just” part of aging.
“Just menopause.”
“Just hormones.”

What that really communicates is that their experience is inconvenient, expected, and unworthy of care.

Perimenopause and menopause are normal life stages.
They are also physiologic states where hormone levels decline and systems throughout the body are affected, brain function, bone density, muscle mass, metabolism, sleep quality, mood stability, and sexual health.

Sleep lost to night sweats.
Pain that makes intimacy difficult or impossible.
Cognitive changes that affect confidence and performance.
Emotional shifts that strain relationships and self-identity.

None of this is a test of resilience.
None of this is something you are meant to endure in silence.

The idea that “natural” equals acceptable has been used to dismiss women’s symptoms for decades.
It delays care.
It normalizes discomfort.
It teaches women to minimize their own needs.

Medicine exists because the body is not perfect.
We treat naturally occurring conditions every day like diabetes, hypertension, depression because allowing suffering is not neutral care.

Wanting to feel better is not weakness.
Needing medical support is not failure.
And advocating for treatment is not excessive.

Something being natural does not make it harmless.
Withholding care because of that label is not evidence-based medicine.

It is neglect.

Save this and share it with a friend. ♥️

The FDA has approved a new label update for Depo-Provera, the injectable form of birth control commonly known as “the shot.” The revised warning highlights an increased risk of developing meningioma, a type of tumor that forms in the protective membranes surrounding the brain. If you currently use Depo-Provera or are considering it, it’s completely reasonable to have questions about what this update means for your health and treatment options.

Birth control doesn’t “balance” hormones.

It overrides them.

Hormonal birth control works by shutting down your natural hormone production and replacing it with synthetic hormones. That’s not balance — it’s suppression.

For some women, this can look like relief at first.
For many others, it quietly leads to:
• Anxiety or mood changes
• Low libido
• Weight gain
• Nutrient depletion
• Worsening insulin resistance
• Hormone symptoms returning stronger after stopping

Birth control has its place.
But it’s not a hormone-balancing treatment — and it’s not addressing why symptoms are happening.

At Glow Health & Wellness, we help women understand what their bodies are doing beneath the surface, so decisions are informed — not default.

If you were told birth control was the only answer, it may be time to ask better questions.

New research from a large clinical trial suggests vitamin D may help slow biological aging by protecting telomeres—the protective caps at the ends of DNA that naturally shorten as we age. Slower telomere shortening is associated with improved cellular longevity.

In the five-year study of more than 1,000 adults, participants who supplemented with 2,000 IU of vitamin D daily experienced significantly less telomere shortening compared to those receiving a placebo. Researchers estimate this difference may reflect nearly three years less biological aging at the cellular level.

While the study measured telomeres only in blood cells and did not assess long-term disease outcomes, the findings add to growing evidence that vitamin D may influence aging pathways beyond its well-known roles in bone and immune health. As always, supplementation should be discussed with a healthcare professional.

Why you should try microneedling ✨

Microneedling is more than a cosmetic treatment—it’s a way to support your skin’s natural ability to repair and renew itself. By creating tiny, controlled micro-channels in the skin, microneedling signals your body to increase collagen and elastin production, which are essential for firm, smooth, healthy-looking skin.

Over time, this process can help:
• Soften fine lines and wrinkles
• Improve the appearance of scars and uneven texture
• Refine pores and enhance overall skin tone
• Help your skincare products absorb more effectively

One of the reasons patients love microneedling is that it delivers noticeable results with minimal downtime. Treatments are customizable, making it suitable for many skin types and concerns when performed by trained professionals.

At Glow Health and Wellness 🩵 microneedling is never one-size-fits-all. We focus on understanding your skin goals, educating you on the process, and creating a plan that supports long-term skin health—not just short-term glow.
