On Saturday, February 7th, the Louis J. Acompora Memorial Foundation brought their lifesaving cardiac screening program to Seaford High School in recognition of National Youth Heart Screening Day.

More than 200 student-athletes received free heart screenings, and students also had the opportunity to learn CPR.

We thank the Seaford Union Free School District for opening their doors for this important event, and grateful to the Louis J. Acompora Memorial Foundation and Heart Screen NY for coordinating and conducting the screenings.

Approximately 150 doctors, nurses, technicians, and volunteers made the day possible.

The Seaford Wellness Council was proud to support the event by providing lunch to the dedicated medical professionals and volunteers who generously gave their time to our community.

Together, we continue working to promote the health and safety of Seaford’s young athletes

Join your neighbors in Wantagh for the 6th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade this Sunday at 2PM! Honoring Grand Marshals, the Wantagh Fire Department. Pipe bands, Irish dancers, mounted horses, floats & more — plus a block party 4–8PM on Railroad Avenue!

Some of our Seaford Wellness Council leadership team recently visited Seaford Middle School to see the new Robotics Team in action.

The Seaford Wellness Council proudly donated start-up funds to launch the team, which is preparing to compete in the FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge—part of the 2025–2026 UNEARTHED™ season.

Their first qualifying tournament was Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Kings Park High School (FIRST Long Island Qualifier #4, 7:00 AM–12:30 PM).

We’re excited to support these students as they build, code, problem-solve, and represent Seaford.

Seaford Wellness Council was proud to be represented at the Cub Scout Pack 581 Pinewood Derby! 🚗✨

Our President, Laura Metzdorff-Rivera, was invited to serve as a guest judge alongside the Seaford Harbor PTA for an exciting evening of creativity and community spirit.

A total of 53 cars raced from students representing Seaford Harbor School and Seaford Manor School.

Andrew Hartmann served as Master of Ceremonies for the evening. In addition to that role, he is the new Membership Chair and a Webelos Den Leader (Webelos stands for “We’ll Be Loyal Scouts”) for the pack. We also want to recognize Janice Serina for her leadership and involvement in helping make the event such a success. Also pictured is the overall race winner proudly holding his winning car representing Harbor School.
