In 2020, I really leaned into my plant lady era (as did many other folks during that time). My plant collection has expanded quite a bit since that time as has my knowledge of plant care. This morning as I was sitting next to my plants and gazing out the window beyond, I found myself longing for spring...wishing to see the rest of the world emerging in shades of green with bright floral accents. And then I spotted it.
Under my plant bench sits a pot of dirt. At least that's what it looks like on first impression. But if you look closer, you can see the emergence of a small green shoot. Nestled in that soil is a bulb from 2025 preparing for its entrance into the warm spring.
January is month of renewal, rest, and quiet growth. While the outside world appears to be cold and bland, there is work being done at a pace that is accessible and not always noticed. Visible production and growth does not equate to value or effort. If you resonate with cold and sleepy winter, be kind to yourself and honor the season you are in ๐
