Cole has Leukemia. Leukemia does NOT have Cole
On February 22nd Cole left school early due to back stabbing pain. We went to immediate care, and were then sent to the ER. After receiving two bags of fluid, some pain reliever, a cat scan, and some bloodwork, he was discharged with a diagnosis of dehydration, and constipation. We followed up with our primary a few days later, and were referred to a GI specialist. The appointment was made, but was not considered urgent so it was scheduled for June 3rd. For the next couple days, Cole was still hurting. I called with frustration knowing Coley could not do this for another day, let alone, four months. I was able to get him into a new primary that same day, at which time was diagnosed with a sprained muscle in his back. Sunday evening, I could not sit and watch my boy lay in pain any longer. We went back to the ER. At this point it had been 17 days that he had been in pain. Our local hospital ER took him back immediately. ER doctor came in, and examined Cole. He told us he was shipping Cole up to AI Dupont. Cole was transported by ambulance. My sister brought me up, minutes behind my Coley. Never did I even fathom the thought, at that time, we would be receiving the answers we have received. Six days ago we were just trying to figure out how to get him up and moving. Five days ago we were facing a list of possibilities. Four days ago we were facing a procedure. Three days ago we learned Cole is facing the fight of his life. Cole has Leukemia. Leukemia does NOT have Cole.
