Housing for Homeless Veterans

Housing for Homeless Veterans Private funding to help house the American Veterans who pledged their lives to keep our country free and found themselves homeless after their duty ended.

Everyone wants to help Homeless Veterans. President Trump just signed it into law. Unfortunately, our government and the VA do not have the deep resources needed to help all homeless veterans. We stand in the middle to privately fund what can't be done otherwise, building a village in which homeless veterans can work, live and heal. The neighborhood needed to complete the Housing for Homeless Vete

rans project, which is located within a mile of the new VA Hospital in Marina CA and on government land, is available now if we act fast. This whole idea began because my regular transit bus passes through the Cypress Knolls neighborhood of Fort Ord, a military bedroom community built in the 70’s and since abandoned. It occurred to me that we might be able to somehow house the many homeless veterans I have met in Monterey. It turns out, the homes are available! The article linked above mentions a proposed budget of $100m to build a senior community, but the deal fell through. Our idea requires only $35m because our goal is to give veterans jobs. Additional materials and labors are expected to be donated, but we have branding options available for donors in the $2-5m range.
