I installed this fan in my gable vent with a left over thermostat from an old attic fan. I used a 75 watt solar panel rated at 19v open circuit and once the fan spins up the operating voltage settles to around 7.5-9 volts. It moves a decent amount of air and I can definitely feel the hot air coming out of the gable vent. I could see the hot air signature with my FLIR camera so hopefully it make some difference.
