WHAT DOES INTENTION MEAN?

You either run your day or your day runs you.

Do you ever hit Instagram or Facebook to look something specific up, then 10 minutes later you come to scrolling your feed/reels and think "how did I end up here? What did I even get on Instagram for again in the first place?

This happens in life too. We can either let our day happen to us (ie wake up, leave dishes in the sink, rush to work, come home, plop on the couch, crack a brew, and slap on Hulu and think gee it's already time to go to bed then scroll for half an hour before our eyes hurt and we go to bed) OR we can give a conscious effort to a magical thing called...**intention**

Intention does not just mean to plan out your day, it happens as we live out our day.
Telling ourselves we will show up as a happy, magnetic person in our work interactions.
Set the alarm 10 minutes ahead of time to do those dishes and walk to our cars and drive the speed limit for once to work (save on that $6 gas).

IT can simply mean we tell ourselves we want to be as present as possible before calling our brother who we haven't talked to in a few weeks.

You don't need to overhaul your life, but I challenge you tomorrow to practice one activity with intention. You'll be amazed at your outcome. If you are still confused and want to unlock this super power, hit me with a DM and I'd be happy to shed clarity.

Hey if you get any value from this, do me a favor and spit some comments down below or bookmark this so it tells the insta / facebook algorithm to share this content with more people. Appreciate you all. Let's get better one day at a time.

Love yourself first.

If the director of a movie disliked his movie while he was creating it and after he completed it, do you think it’s going to be a sellout success in the movies?

Start taking action toward doing the little things that make you proud to be you. That make you love being you every time you look in the mirror.

So many of us root our “self liking” in the feedback we get from others and sometimes quite literally from the “liking” we get on social media.

Why do you think you can like your own posts on instagram?

Like you before others like you.

TREAT EVERYONE LIKE YOURE AT A MUSIC FESTIVAL

I firmly believe we, as humans, desire to interact with each other on a deeper level than we typically do in public.

Rather than pretend to check your phone as you pass someone or stand next to someone on the bus experiment with striking up a conversation! See where it goes! You never know what perspective someone has to offer.

Beyond that, the energy you get from having a conversation, giving a high five, or even just a friendly smile is incredible! Like that of the communal energy we get at festivals.

And let me know how it goes! It’s amazing what people have to share and offer to our lives when we give them the opportunity to.

Head into your week with this intention! ✌️&🫶

BEING UNDERSTOOD IS OVERRATED

It is extremely liberating to let go of the need to be understood. I truly don’t believe everyone will be understood all of the time and that’s okay.

We get so caught up trying to prove ourselves and our intention to others that we end up taking time and energy away from being present or in the moment.

This goes for social situations (you said something at the bar and now you’re worried it came out wrong and you feel the need to over explain yourself or make up for it by being extra nice or exaggerating a positive quality about yourself)

This goes for texting. Not every message needs exclamation marks for the person receiving it to know you’re a nice person. I am so guilty of this!!!!! 😋☺️

This also goes for making a post on instagram. Yes, it’s great to be understood and to get a point across in a repost, a posted quote, or a caption, but not everyone will take it the same and that’s okay!

The universe will bring people in and out of your life when the time is right beyond your control. Do your best to be your authentic self in everything you say and do. Leave the rest up to other’s.

COLD SHOWERS SUCK!

No, a cold shower won’t kill you although it feels like it will when you’re in it because OUR BRAINS ARE FEAR BASED MECHANISMS telling us we need to get the hell outta there.

Cold showers do the very opposite of killing us. And yes, I take a cold shower every single morning; fully on C for at least 4 minutes.

1. Improves your circulation and your immunity - cold water surges blood through your arteries to surround your organs to keep that machine of a body well oiled

2. Improves the condition of skin and hair - warm water dries out your skin and hair. Cold water also tightens your cuticles and pores keeping the skin tight and young looking as you age.
3. Wakes you the f**k up! - you know the feeling waking up groggy, taking a nice warm shower and all you want to do is leave that towel on your head and jump back into bed and snooze. When cold water hits you it forces you to do that deep “oh s**t” breathing which increases oxygen intake and heart rate. This gives your body a phenomenal surge of energy coffee could never match.
4. Depression and Stress - studies have shown that cold water exposure decreases levels of uric acid and increases glutathione which directly improve your adaptation to stressed of daily life. You can do your own research on “hydrotherapy” for depression as well. Just know it works.
5. Muscle recovery or soreness - it is no surprise that icing sore knees or your back or shin splints for runners works… nothing more to be said about how it affects the muscles throughout the entire body in a cold shower..

If you want to learn more about mental tricks to ease cold shower suffering to be an enjoyable experience shoot me a DM or drop a comment! ✌️&🫶&❄️🛀🏿

STOP CREATING daily schedule’s that only book time for work, exercise, and task you “HAVE” to do.

Imagine spending time with your best friend; someone who provides two core values to the relationship: 1) Challenges you to move the needle in your life and 2) Makes adequate time to do things you both enjoy that doesn’t move the needle like going to concerts, making dinner, movie nights, etc.

Now imagine the relationship you had with a teacher or boss or parent who was only ever a dick making you do things like homework, more paperwork, only things you never wanted to do but moved the needle… and they never opened up in a fun or friendly way. Probably wanted to ditch them ASAP.

Same goes with your schedule: if your planner only tells you to do the hard things you must do to keep moving the needle like study, run, take a cold shower, wake up early, make the sales call, door knock, etc you won’t have a very good relationship with your schedule and you’ll quickly ditch the damn schedule all together.

BUILD IN FUN TIME TO YOUR SCHEDULE!!!

Build a schedule that physically says “10 minute break” at the top of each hour throughout a task. Write what you want to do like play with your dog, play wii golf, scroll on IG, walk to the deli down the road for lunch, watch YouTube, walk around the office… WHATEVER you do to just chillax and be at ease.

If you don’t respect your own time, you’ll burn out. Build in this yin Yang habit with your schedule and your relationship with your schedule will change and ultimately your productivity will improve.

Gratitude is wildly underrated when it comes to measuring our timely progression success.

Practicing gratitude shows our subconscious (and the universe) that the little wins in life make us feel happy and grateful (think reward system) such as finding a dollar on the ground or feeling really proud of the way you gave that friend advice.

Gratitude not only allows us to be happy in every moment, but makes the big wins that much more bittersweet.

Look up to the top left of your screen. Think you could carve out just 5 minutes (you can limit it to 5) to call up a friend and tell em you’re so incredibly grateful for the wisdom, support, and relationship they’ve provided through the years. Do this consistently with all relationships and watch what value people add to your life.

Next time you pick up a quarter on the ground, take a moment of gratitude that life brought you money in any amount. Do this consistently and watch how money comes into your life.

Practice gratitude, and watch all areas of life provide unconditional abundance. Sounds like bu****it until it happens.

Happy Friday Junior y’all! ✌️&🫶

Did you know a study’s show that 85% of the things people worry about never actually happen?

What’s making you worry today?

How is that pulling you away from the present moment?

Whenever you’re worrying, think about a dog sitting below a warm vent. That dog isn’t stressed about wanting more treats, a new dog bed, whether another dog peed over their claimed spot on the tree. They’re simply laying in the moment loving that blissful hot air on their hair.

Let it go on this fine Wednesday. Live in the present

I find myself making assumptions on personalities based on face similarity of people I grew up with in high school. Or even having the same name as someone I went to high school with. Anyone relate?

Making assumptions about someone OR A SITUATION can be extremely damaging to not only someone else, but yourself..

Everyone knows the “Thank you for your interest in this position, but we have decided to move on to other candidates. Please continue to check our website for blah blah blah…”

And we all know that “f**kkkkkk I didn’t get the job” 😔 feeling. How many of you, months later, landed a different job which has a great job environment or co-workers you wouldn’t trade the world for? Woulda never came to fruition had you landed the first job.

How about not finding your car keys and running late or when someone cuts you off in traffic. You have NO IDEA if that was the universe saying “sorry mate, had to slow you up 30 seconds or 5 minutes so you didn’t get in that car accident which would have taken your life…

Now, what about a person. Do you remember a time seeing someone at a party or a new face who was a friend of a friend who you immediately began to judge exactly who they would be from the start of looking at them or learning their name?

It is important to become extremely aware of when we put these bias’ on people or on situations before fully understanding what the outcome will (or will not) bring us or how well we will vibe with someone after having a conversation with them.

Give someone the benefit of the doubt today. ✌️&💛

I had a realization on my run this morning: I’ve gotten much faster and much more comfortable with the goal pace I set for myself (7 minutes a mile on a 5-7 mile run).

For the last two weeks hitting this time has become easy while before it seemed so unattainable. Before I couldn’t even run 3 miles without having to walk some.

The journey of working up this 7 minute goal from my original pace of 8 minutes made the morning run’s extremely challenging and exhausting but as I tracked my run stats daily I was excited at my weekly improvement.

I’ve been holding this 7 minute pace goal for two weeks now which is great and it’s become easy every morning, but I realized I just took a parking space on this journey to becoming a marathon runner and a triathlete…

I hit my goal and now am sitting in the parking space of a 7 minute mile pace runner. The fun of any challenge is continuous improvement.

Imagine a game app on your phone or a video game. Imagine how fun it would be if every level was extremely easy to accomplish. No one would play that game because there’s no achievement; no challenge to the advancement.

Are there parking spaces in your life that you’ve taken in your relationships? Your net worth? Your fitness? Your career? Your personal development as a whole?

I see so many people struggle with this. Delaying their happiness until _____ .

“We’ll if I just got this promotion, then I’d be happy.”

“If I just got a boyfriend or girlfriend who treated me well, then I’ll be happy.”

“If I just got a new car… This piece of s**t car looks so bad in my driveway.”

“If blah blah blah blah… There will always be a million things to improve around you but what we fail to recognize is all of the great things our life is filled with in this present moment.

Notice your right index finger for a moment. I have a 30 second challenge for you. Next to the LIKE BUTTON on the right is your power button. Give the power button a click, set your phone aside for 30 seconds and think of two simple, basic things you’re grateful for. It could be as simple as the fact that you have clean drinking water or that there’s no war occurring in your home city/country. After each one, pause and notice how you feel. Drop a 🙏 if this did somethin

Forgiveness is the most powerful tool we can use to connect with not only other’s on a deeper level, but ourselves…

Have YOU wronged someone in your past that you need to forgive yourself for? Something you’ve already been forgiven for by that person, but still hang onto for yourself?

Are you hanging onto this, allowing it to be evidence of WHO YOU ARE… telling yourself this is who I am despite the changes I know I’ve made.

On the flip side, who do you need to forgive? Who wronged you in your past? This stirred emotion is like a knot in our backs that we’d rather keep around. FOR WHAT? So we can feel angry every time we think of it? To feel angry every time we think of this person?

Humans f**k up. What I’ve learned from my own f**k up’s in the past and from people who were close to me in my past wronging me is that forgiveness is an incredible feeling of release and renewal. It’s like finally working that knot out of your back that’s been there for months. It comes from a place of love and removes hate. The only person suffering from the emotion of hate and resentment toward another person is you. Remember that, and have a great Thursday ✌️&♥️
