Hello beloved Clients, future Clients, and people just shopping!!
2020 has been an interesting journey for many, if not most, of us. The devastation to our community, our state, country and, indeed, the world, has been heart-breaking and, no doubt, will be far-reaching. Each one of us has known someone who has been affected, if not directly, then indirectly.
In March 2020, Covid-19 brought the bodywork industry to a screeching haltâŚas it did so many professions! There were a few months where the state, the Washington State Massage Association, the Federation of Massage Therapists and more, worked diligently on creating protocols for our new world of massage and healing arts. From March to the end of June, it was recommended that only âemergent careâ, such as people in acute pain, be accepted into a practice. Protocols such as thorough cleaning and disinfecting, masking, frequent handwashing, changing of clothes, taking of temperatures and more screening questions have been added to many practices. (This, of course, takes a lot more time between clients!)
As many of my clients already know, I had moved my practice from Eastlake to Seattle Asian Medicine and Martial Arts on Lake City Way in August of 2019, in with a group of Acupuncturists, Massage Therapists, Personal Trainers and Martial Artists teaching an array of disciplines to a full spectrum of customers and clients. Seemed like quite a happy merging of skills and services!
And then, Covid-19 hit, shutting us down. As July began, Governor Inslee of Washington, moved the state into Phase 2 and loosening the parameters of practice, with a caveat that, if the Corona numbers started to rise again, there was a distinct possibility of going back to Phase 1. This possibility is still with us.
The attraction of being with a variety to different practitioners proved very daunting in the face of Covid, especially with contact tracing protocols. I felt that there were simply too many variables to keep my clientsâand myselfâsafe. Moving back into private practice with more control of the environment seemed the more logical and safe choice.
So, I changed it up⌠again, moving out of SAMMA to my home office, primarily, in Mountlake Terrace, I also added once a week (on Saturdays), subletting from a colleague and friend, DâVorah Levy, ACU, back in my old building on Eastlake, Suite 302. In November 2020, I will be expanding to Fridays as well.
So, give a call, text or email and we can set something up!
