✨ I wish I had started these 5 longevity practices 20 years ago . . .

When it comes to longevity, I’ve learned more in my 40s and 50s than I ever imagined back in my 30s. These are 5 practices I lean on now—and wish I had started decades earlier. Each one is grounded in science, not trends, and can truly shape how you age with strength, vitality, and grace.

1. Protecting Mitochondria 
Think of mitochondria as the batteries of your cells. They don’t just power your workouts—they power your memory, energy, and even your mood. Supporting them with movement, breathwork, sunlight, and the right nutrients keeps your “batteries” charged for life.

2. Protein Timing 
It’s not just how much protein you eat—it’s when. Research shows that spacing protein throughout the day (especially at breakfast and post-workout) is key to protecting muscle and metabolism as we age. It’s one of the simplest shifts I wish I had known sooner.

3. Stress & Telomeres 
Stress literally leaves a fingerprint on your DNA by shortening telomeres. The good news? Practices like yoga, meditation, and even quality social connection can actually slow this process and help preserve longevity at the cellular level.

4. Cellular Repair with Peptides 
For years, I only thought about fitness in terms of exercise. Now, I know the future of longevity is cellular repair. Peptides are short chains of amino acids that “signal” your body to heal and regenerate. They don’t replace healthy habits—they amplify them.

5. Hydration that Reaches the Cells

Muscle Is Your Midlife Superpower 💪🏼✨

Ladies, let’s have a real conversation —
Muscle isn’t just about the mirror. It’s about mobility, metabolism, and feeling unstoppable as we move through our 40s, 50s, and beyond.

The truth? We naturally start to lose muscle as we age (yes, sarcopenia is real 😬), and with it goes our strength, energy, and stability — unless we intentionally build it back.

Here’s what supports strong, thriving bodies:

➡️ Strength training (no, it’s not just for gym rats).
➡️ Movement and recovery that honor your body.

💞Today would’ve been my mom’s birthday…

She was grace, grit, and goodness wrapped into one lavender-loving, hummingbird-watching, game-day-cheering soul. 💜🕊️

📚 In the early 60s—when women weren’t often encouraged to pursue higher education—she paid her way through both undergrad and graduate school, earning a Master’s in Elementary Education. A true trailblazer.

She taught with purpose, led with heart, and believed that life was an adventure meant to be lived fully. 🌿

💚She loved gardening, Michigan State basketball (Go Green!), and kept going to home games long after I had finished gymnastics & graduate school from MSU. She had a way of making everything feel both exciting and intentional—whether it was March Madness or planting tomatoes.

Today, I slow down. I breathe deeper. I feel her presence in the flutter of a hummingbird and the scent of fresh lavender.

She reminds me that true leadership begins with presence. That we blaze trails not by force, but with vision, resilience, and a whole lot of love.

Here’s to the women who came before us.

To the quiet strength we carry.
And to choosing the adventure—again and again.

Yes. Pushing through everything is no longer the badge of honor.

🐠We got to fish like the Maldivians fish. No rod, just line & hook, then feel the bite and pull it up quickly!!

Fishing reminds me a lot of training our bodies…

You cast the line, stay patient, and wait. Sometimes the fish just nibble the bait—but don’t bite.

Same with fitness—some days you give it your all, and the results feel… meh.

But instead of quitting, we switch it up. New bait. New strategy. Same strong commitment.

Whether it’s building strength or reeling in a goal—progress takes patience, persistence, and a little creativity. Keep showing up, sis. Your breakthrough is coming.
