⚠️ Preventive Blackouts Starting June 1st

Starting June 1st, Puget Sound Energy will begin preparing for preventive blackouts to prevent wildfires.

Communities at Highest Risk for Shut-Offs Include:

Greenwater, Pierce County
Skykomish
Concrete, Skagit County
Rural areas east of Snoqualmie Pass like Cle Elum and Kittitas
Parts of west Thurston County
Vashon Island

🩺 Medical Life Support Status
If you have essential medical equipment at home, make sure you have “life support status” on your account:

Complete Forms: Provide necessary documentation from your medical provider

Annual Review: Submit annual review forms for approval

🔔 Alerts and Notifications
PSE account holders will receive automated alerts via call, text, or email.

Customers with Medical Life Support status will receive earlier notifications.

Non-account holders can opt-in for updates via PSE’s Outage Map.

Click “Notify me about this outage”

💡 What is a PSPS?
Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) are preventive measures to keep you and your community safe during high-risk wildfire conditions:

PSE will communicate in advance and during a PSPS.
PSPS could be used in any high-risk area within PSE’s service area.
Power will be restored only when it's safe to do so.

🔌 Consequences of Preventive Shut-Offs
Preventive power shut-offs can affect medically vulnerable groups, older adults, and low-income people who may not have backup power sources. Please ensure you have an emergency plan in place.
