Hi everyone! Wanted to take some time to tell you all a little about me😊. I was born and raised in Michigan and went to Michigan state university for undergrad (where I met my husband! Go green!) and our rival university of Michigan for grad school.

After NP school, I got married and moved to Washington with my husband, Kolin, and goldendoodle, Henry 🐶. The joke is that he is bevels mascot. This doggie is spoiled beyond belief! We moved here so I could complete a dermatology residency for nurse practitioners. We fell in love with the beautiful state of Washington and decided to settle down here in Seattle. Since moving here in 2017, I’ve worked in both medical dermatology and aesthetic dermatology roles.

My desire to start bevel aesthetics stemmed from the love I have caring for my patients and wanting to build long lasting relationships with those in our community to help them naturally achieve their goals. I wanted to be able to make these personal connections with those who are my neighbors :)

⭐️Where did we get the name BEVEL from? ⭐️

In aesthetics and dermatology needles are frequently used. The “bevel” of a needle is the the tip of the needle where the opening is.

The size of the opening is important as it effects the flow of the material being injected

The way direction the needle is inserted also determine where the injectable will flow. Frequently injections are done with the bevel up.

Platelet rich fibrin differs from platelet rich plasma. How?

The spin speed changes the g force to create the difference of PRP and PRF. PRF is created in a centrifuge using a lower spin speed and time. This creates the growth factors we want to be more concentrated and gives it the ability to last longer and be more effective than PRP.

Bevel Aesthetics focuses on natural approaches and the blood collection tube we use contains no additives or chemicals, unlike many tubes with PRP. Therefore you are ONLY getting YOUR own blood, which makes it a very safe treatment.

Hormonal Acne

Female hormonal acne generally occurs on the jawline area of an adult patient.

There are targeted acne treatments specifically for this type of acne including oral contraceptives, topical medications including topical antibiotics and retinoids or the oral medication spironolactone.

The fluctuations in the hormones estrogen, progesterone and testosterone are responsible for causing skin inflammation, oil production, blocking skin cell turnover, and production of acne causing bacteria called P acnes.

Do you ever wonder where your injector is placing your neuromodulators (Botox or Dysport) in your face? I often will show my patients the muscles of the face, so they can understand why I inject where I inject. As you can see there are so many muscles in the face and knowledge of the underlying anatomy is so important in aesthetics!

Some muscles of the face pull up, some down and some function as sphincter such as the muscle around the eyes or the mouth. By targeting specific muscles with injecting a neuromodulator, it can temporarily inhibit the action of the muscle, and in turn reduce the wrinkles on the skin.

All Natural Hair Restoration with PRF

Platelet Rich Fibrin🩸 is a newer, scientifically proven treatment for hair loss in both men and women. PRF is created by gently using a needle to collect your OWN blood, spinning it in a centrifuge and injecting 💉 the platelet rich fibrin part into the affected areas of the scalp. This process separates the red blood cells from the nutrient dense components that contain a variety of growth factors, which will help hair grow and thicken existing hair.

My name is Chelsea Karchon and I am the owner and medical director of Bevel Aesthetics. I am a Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years training and experience in medical dermatology and aesthetics.
