The placenta is the only organ in the human body that can regrow itself multiple times all while sustaining the creation of a whole new life… 🤯
People who enter into birthing I want you to know your body is a magic machine! 🪄🌟
It knows and cares for you in so many ways.
It holds your victories and your worries. And birth… birth should be a victory for you and your body.
No matter the process or the outcome your heart and spirit deserve to feel pride for the journey your body holds in this piece of your story.
This beautiful placenta and cord belong to my very first official birthing client and her beautiful new child. Her journey may not have been what she had originally imagined, but nonetheless her glorious strength of self love and the empowerment of her decisions through birthing allowed her to feel deep satisfaction.
This is the work of a doula. To support and nourish birthing people and their chosen community in this glorious transition. To hold space for whatever may come and help birthing people feel they made the best choices they could for the circumstances that unfolded.
That’s why I am here. To help you remember that your body is a magic machine, no matter how your birth happens.
I’m so honored to have this be my origin story in this calling. This family, this birthing journey, this celebration of the power of the human body.
I can’t wait to step further and further into this work.

Abortion is healthcare.
Reproductive justice and autonomy are a foundation of all true equality in this country.
That is my unwavering stance.
Thank you Olivia and for your extraordinary course through .
Thank you for the gorgeously accessible knowledge portal you have created in . You and your collaborators gave me an immense sense of hope for the future and it will be a honor to learn from you all for years to come.
Birth workers and future birth workers I believe it is a necessity to seek out vibrantly inclusive and progressive organizations like Birthing Advocacy as a cornerstone of the continued education that is a necessity in this calling. Remember it is a gift that we should always be learning and changing our relationship with this work.
I am forever grateful for the empowering motion of this course and the fire it has lit inside me for all the spectrums of birth work.
And one more time in case it wasn’t clear…
Abortion is Healthcare.

I cannot give enough praise to Raeanne Madison and !

Anyone who knows me knows feeding people is one of my biggest love languages. When I found Raeanne’s recipes and read her intricately chosen words there was a powerful affirmation, yet again, that this work is something I have always been called to do.
As someone who is on a journey of healing my own relationship with food, while adventuring into the science of herbalism, this course was a powerful bridge tool for how those things will play into what I can provide for future birthing individuals and their families.

Her combination of tradition, gut hitting emotionally impactful first person narrative, and fierce dedication to the nourishment of postpartum bodies is inspiring in profound ways.

Raeanne reminds us of the powerful healing that can come body, mind, and soul from food cooked with love. She also reminds of us of the importance of reconnection with the ingredients our abundant Mother Earth has graced us with to guide our journey.

I found Erika Davis first through her podcast “Two Doulas Talk” with Angharad Hollingsworth. There was something so potent about the way they engaged in birth work and with each other. Something about the way they listened and challenged each other in loving ways that showed me just how much this work lived in their very beings.
Before I found them I had been searching for a safer space for myself in all this. A place where it felt natural to explore my own gifts and the validity of my experience. A space of such grace that it pushed me to hold myself and the environment I want to create to a higher level of gorgeous accountability.
Erika’s childbirth education course was the most stunning example of proof that there is an intersection to all the pieces of myself in this work. That if I am to be successful in creating a career out of this work I must first know myself deeper and more fully than I ever have and be joyful in the knowledge that I will ALWAYS be learning. Every single one of the extraordinary individuals who came in as teachers blew open my understanding of the spectrums that can be given in the journey of birth work. Having the chance to evolve my own unique offerings so wildly and joyfully was a gift. AndI know undoubtedly the exchange of understanding created in that process has lushly grown the roots of all I will do in the future.
Sharing space with Erika while she discovered how to move through her own pregnancy was something else that will forever be a gift to my understanding of this powerful transition. She shared her fertility story with us in a way that reminded me of the sanctity and metamorphic power of simply speaking your truth and gave me deeper knowing of the community I want to support in this work. She gave us the 4D image of watching a person navigate the millions of complicated intricacies of growing a human within her body while juggling all the other pieces of her existence. It was an ancient kind of magic to watch her maneuver. There would be moments where she would close her eyes as a wave of nausea overcame her, a small drive heave would occur, and then she would open her eyes, take a sip of water, make a joke or shake it off, and pick up right where she left off. She showed us motherhood. In action.
Thank you Erika. For the profound container of sacred space you have created and how you empower the community who has come together to nourish it with you. There is an eternal fire of courage that lives in me now. Endless blessings of joy and grace for this journey you’re stepping into.
