Where did we get the name Alluvial Counseling?
Alluvium is a kind of soil. A very fertile soil deposited by water. You can find alluvial soils along rivers, or in floodplains, in the large soil fans left once the water receeds. These soils differ from most other soils in that they do not require millennia of rock transformation to form. Instead, sand, clay, silt and gravel are carried and then deposited in a stream bed, or on a floodplain or beach. These sediments layer and layer upon themselves forming the richest soil known to those who farm these lands.
We look at therapy that way. As a powerful vehicle working to build layers of resilience in our client’s lives, from which many many things can grow.
