Cassie Andrews Lmhca

Cassie Andrews Lmhca I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate who offers telehealth therapy to residents of WA

I believe in radical body acceptance and have spent much of my career dismantling the colonized mentality of what a beautiful body is. My expertise includes extensive work in the areas of body connection after sexual trauma, disordered eating, body dysmorphia, and dysphoria. I work with clients to eliminate generational trauma that lives in the body, specifically focusing on womb healing. I believe that the most radical thing one can do is have the courage to be imperfect. The client is the author of their own story, and the therapist can help them to edit or rewrite the chapters that challenge their ability to thrive. I am a therapist who strives to understand individuals within their social context and to meet them wherever they are in their life. I believe that when an individual feels encouraged, they feel capable and appreciated, which leads to connection and cooperation in the world around them.

Where did we get the name Alluvial Counseling?

Alluvium is a kind of soil. A very fertile soil deposited by water. You can find alluvial soils along rivers, or in floodplains, in the large soil fans left once the water receeds. These soils differ from most other soils in that they do not require millennia of rock transformation to form. Instead, sand, clay, silt and gravel are carried and then deposited in a stream bed, or on a floodplain or beach. These sediments layer and layer upon themselves forming the richest soil known to those who farm these lands.

We look at therapy that way. As a powerful vehicle working to build layers of resilience in our client’s lives, from which many many things can grow.
