Journey Midwife Services I’m a q***r, Japanese and white, working class, solo midwife for birth center and home births.

Journey Midwife Services is committed to increasing access to midwifery care- specifically for communities of color and LGBTQ communities. Our services include prenatal care, home and birth center births, postpartum and newborn care. We provide newborn hearing screens at a number of clinics in Seattle and on the Eastside. ✨ Laying Down Stories: A birth story processing workshop for BIPOC birthing folx and families

Join Center for Indigenous Midwifery and Blue Cactus Press for Laying Down Stories: a writing and emotional processing workshop for BIPOC families and birthing folx.

This workshop is offered in two iterations:
💻 VIRTUAL: March 24th, from 11am to 1pm.
📝 IN-PERSON: April 7th, from 10 - 11:30am in Tacoma (1901 Jefferson Ave, #105, Tacoma, WA).

➡️ Registration is free and required! Participants can expect to engage in guided writing prompts, verbal storytelling and witnessing exercises, and somatic writing exercises focused on releasing energy and emotions surrounding birth experiences.

The workshop will be facilitated by Chris Vega, a writer, storyteller, and local publisher at , with content created in collaboration with birth workers from Center for Indigenous Midwifery.

REMINDER: THIS WEEKEND is our childbirth education class for our quarterly series. This course centers our pregnant Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian/Kānaka Maoli, Indigenous Pasfika/Pacific Islander relatives.

Fireweed Connections is excited to partner with our very own, LeChanté Raiwalui (Fijian/Black Doula and HIFS Emotional Wellness Bestie). She will be accompanied by our amazing Birthkeeper, Dichela Ueki (Belauan) for skills share. 🤎

📍This *2-day workshop* will be held at the Hummingbird office in Columbia City. (Address is in the registration link.)
