In contrast, "hormonal deficiency" refers to lower than normal levels of hormones for your age.

During menopause, the body undergoes a natural hormonal shift as the ovaries decline in function. Depending on pre-existing hormone levels, this shift can lead to a variety of symptoms, such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, and changes in menstrual patterns.
