What inspired you to teach yoga?
I started practicing yoga in 2000, and its impact on my life was so positive and meaningful. Inspired by my teachers, I chose to deepen my practice through teacher training so I could support others on their own paths of connection, self-inquiry, and self-love.
What can students expect from your class?
We live in a culture that does not encourage us to truly know ourselves — let alone LOVE ourselves — so the time we take to show up on our mat is precious. It’s an opportunity to interrupt old habit patterns (physical, mental, and emotional) that no longer serve us, and to consciously shift unkind self-talk into genuine words of love and support. My classes weave together creative, conscientious sequencing with intentional pranayama, mudras, focused awareness, and a gentle reminder not to take ourselves too seriously.
Do you have a favorite mantra or piece of advice?
Don’t compare your practice to anyone else’s. Yoga is an inward journey, and no two bodies, minds, or life experiences are exactly alike. Through yoga, we become more familiar with our patterns and conditioning, peeling back layers of illusion to reconnect with our deepest and truest selves. Comparison pulls us away from our unique work, while presence brings us back to our peaceful center — back home.
What do you enjoy outside of teaching?
I loooooove making stained glass art! I also love practicing yoga, playing harmonium and singing, taking macro photos of flowers, and spending time with my partner, son, and friends. I practice Vipassana meditation as well — it helps me keep my head on straight.
