Reframing our difficult thoughts is a big part of how being mindful reduces stress.
Ask yourself
šIs this happening now or am I worried about something in the future?
šRemember the future is unpredictable- we canāt know exactly what will happen so we might be worrying about something that will never happen.
I also like to ask myself- of all the things I worry about- which of them have come true exactly as I imagined ? Answer: not a single one!
Focus on the present moment and what you CAN control.
Trouble getting into the present? Feel your feet, and take slow deep breaths. This will ground you in whatās happening now.
Noticing 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you can taste will help too.
