Working with our worries is possible!

Reframing our difficult thoughts is a big part of how being mindful reduces stress.

Ask yourself
🌟Is this happening now or am I worried about something in the future?

🌟Remember the future is unpredictable- we can’t know exactly what will happen so we might be worrying about something that will never happen.

I also like to ask myself- of all the things I worry about- which of them have come true exactly as I imagined ? Answer: not a single one!

Focus on the present moment and what you CAN control.

Trouble getting into the present? Feel your feet, and take slow deep breaths. This will ground you in what’s happening now.

Noticing 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you can taste will help too.

Scrolling first thing does not set you up for the best outcome.

You wake rested, and then the scroll sends your nervous system into overdrive.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

You can be intentional about starting your day. Stretch, breathe, have some water or coffee.

Then consider what you want to let in today. And do that.

We all have choices that can make a huge impact in your day, your week, your life.

Life happens. We can’t be calm all the time.

Trying to be peaceful all the time isn’t realistic. No one can take that kind of pressure.

We can learn to find calm when chaos hits.

Notice how you feel, and feel it. Let slow deep breaths settle anything overwhelming.

This is how we stay present and reduce our stress when things get chaotic.

What if you don’t have to fix your whole life to feel better?

It’s not about fixing. It’s about small, sustainable shifts that make all the difference.

Intentional breathing, working with our thoughts, noticing when stress shows up and managing things in the moment.

It can be done! I know it works, because it’s changed how I deal with my life.

You can too.

7 ways to work with election anxiety! Try these tips to help get through this stressful time.

Be mindful! Pay attention to how your feel and let it be okay to be stressed right now. If you are too deep in the what if’s- come back to the present. We can’t predict the future and ā€œwhat ifā€ only causes anxiety.

Having trouble getting into the present? Try the 3-3-3 rule. Name 3 things you see, 3 things you hear and move 3 body parts.

Exercise! Move your body. Even a 10 minute walk walk will help.

Take breaks from the news and social media.

Listen to your favorite music or better yet- dance to it!

Breathe deeply- long exhales activate the calming part of the nervous system.

Control what you can control. Vote. Volunteer.

Meditate! Proven to reduce stress and anxiety. Check out my YouTube channel for free meditations. Link in bio for details.

Remember, 70% of adults are stressed about the election. Try to give each other a little grace in the coming days. It’s not just you!!! It’s 7 out of 10 people. Be kind to each other!
