Our revenue is used to enrich the lives of the people who live here, not to pay investors. And, we have a better staff-to-resident ratio than most for-profit retirement communities.

Sometimes four heads are better than one... at least when it comes to putting together a puzzle. Everyone has their own method, and there might be a few friendly squabbles, but Pam, Carolyn, Marilynn, and Lu would probably agree that working together is never a bad idea. You got this ladies!

You already know that The Kenney is a stellar place for senior humans to live, but are you aware that we also provide top-notch habitats for senior clocks? That's right: as of last week, we now have 4... count 'em...FOUR Grandfather Clocks residing here on campus. Our latest addition to the fam came to us courtesy of a very generous neighbor, who had apparently heard of our reputation as a safe haven for elderly timepieces. Come by and say hello!

Residents, staff, and members of our West Seattle community came together last week to celebrate the anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, as well as honor one of our own residents, who played an integral role in the mission. Larry Higley, a West Seattle native who worked for Boeing and was contracted by NASA to help with the logistics of the Apollo program, was on hand to share stories of his time with NASA, and we all enjoyed sharing our own memories of the historic landing.

Thank you to Larry and Arlene Higley for your contributions to our space program and to American history!

Amidst the chaos and unrest that was the late 1960's, the United States was about to win a long race...the race to put a man on the moon, and in the process, stitch the battling factions of the country back together.

On July 16, 1969, the Apollo 11 mission took off, bound for eventual glory. On July 16, 2025, we will celebrate the moon landing, as well as pay homage to one of our very own residents who found himself playing an integral role in this monumental feat.

Come join us for refreshments and a chance to find out everything you ever wanted to know about what it's like to be part of the space program!

Despite a chilly start to the day, the sun prevailed and our residents came out for a delicious holiday cookout! We enjoyed all of our favorite picnic foods, as well as a ukulele singalong led by our newest resident Marilyn. What a perfect way to start off our Seattle summer!
