As one door closes, another one opens.

My practice and position at Seattle Indian Health Board officially comes to an end. I am extremely grateful for my last 2 years with this organization. I have grown in professional and personal developments that were both expected and unexpected.
I am forever grateful for the experience shared with, cared with, and had laughter with over these two years. I am forever grateful for the Traditional Indian Medicine Department and Leadership who allowed the braiding of my naturopathic and acupuncture services to be offered to the community and relatives.

I will be taking a few weeks of a much needed break from seeing relatives/patients.

I will be looking forward to my next endeavor to begin in the new year.

That coming into the space of sharing energy and medicines that we have to be in a good state of mind, it is better when we are laughing, happy, and of positive intent, and that our heart means well for the individuals who receive the gifts that we are about to make. Healthy hands also meant clean hands (wash yo hands!).

I have taught these principles that were shared with me from an early age onto my little ones, to others who make medicines with me, and continue to laugh and be happy sharing all the gifts that Mother Earth has to share with us.

Being Indigenous brings a great profound sense of pride.
My mother is Mรฉtis and my father is Cree. My maternal grandparents are of European descent and my paternal grandparents are of Indigenous descent. This lineage can be traced for many generations back.

Vision Board --- 2024
I always love vision boards, when I get lost, distracted, confused about the big picture, I can come back and re-center myself on the visuals, emotions, and feelings about what makes me happy.

So this is my OWN call to action - for myself, to be continuously working with indigenous communities and people. My employment allows myself to do this - I am very grateful for this, AND my vision is bigger than just the Seattle area. I have a strong calling and passion to help my own community, to help my roots back in Saskatchewan, and Canada --- if possible.

I will manifest and set intention for this daily (and have been), placing this out loud so that the intention is real, it's here. Letting the Creator help guide me on this path and journey that is unwritten.

Anxiety can be nerve racking at times, literally, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
Here are some ideas to put into practice when things feel overwhelming...

1. Practice Deep Breathing: Deep breathing exercises can help calm your nervous system. Try inhaling slowly through your nose for a count of four, holding your breath for a count of four, and then exhaling slowly through your mouth for a count of four. Repeat this several times.

2. Stay Active: Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety. Whether it's a walk, yoga, or any form of exercise you enjoy, moving your body can improve your mood and overall well-being.

WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST MOMENT of breaking before buying?

I have never fit a mold or a stereotype that was "meant" for me. This is the truest form of "misfit" in me.
I broke expectations and stereotypes (even the invisible ceiling that people held over me while) growing up, creating powerful and positive records for myself (first and foremost), for my reserve, and for athletic/academic endeavors I dedicated myself to.

Instead of getting into mental games of rumors or gossip, I was taught to put my energy into (positive) action and show nay-sayers what I am capable of. I got faster, smarter, and silenced negativity to then show that, I am possible of anything that I put my mind to.

At time, I even have to break my OWN resistance, pushing myself to new limits - in any aspect: physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual. This journey has been rewarding and I am always game for pushing myself for improvement, to be better, and to release all limits to see full potential.

Tuesday Morning Tea Vibes

Today, my goal is to PLAY. I have a few days where I am solo parenting, and I need to keep up to my 4 year old during the day time (my usual delegated task to Dad) along with caring for my 5 month old.

I want to ensure that I (myself) have fun, laugh, and most of all - make memories for the entire family.

I also want to continue dreaming, goal setting, and goal crushing - all while today I step off the accelerator, slow down and smell the roses, and have some fun (without getting into trouble).
