Substance abuse and mental illness affect communities throughout the entire Puget Sound region regardless of a person’s background including age, ethnicity, color, education, and income level. The need for effective, comprehensive treatments and services for individuals and families affected by alcohol abuse, drug abuse and mental illness continues to grow steadily throughout the Puget Sound regio
n. Accompanying these growing diagnoses is the demand to provide accessible, effective, comprehensive treatments and services for individuals and families struggling to turn their lives around. Treatment yields overwhelmingly positive cost savings versus failure to provide treatment. For every $1 spent on mental health and substance abuse treatment, taxpayers save $18 in societal costs (including the cost for police, jails and emergency rooms). Our programs include mental health assessment and treatment; drug/alcohol/substance abuse assessment, prevention, treatment, and education services; parent education; and intensive outpatient services for children, youth and adults. Our chemical dependency program also includes outreach, intensive case management, Wraparound, retention, clean and sober recreation, after-care, and extended follow-up services.
